This book has fairly good (if not basic) information, but the language is...odd. I think that it was written in another language and run through Google translate. Praying mantises are called “asking mantises,” “imploring mantises,” and “supplicating mantises.” I’m giving it 3 stars because the entertainment value of the interesting wording kept my kids laughing. Phrases like “in the event that your praying mantis is to flourish in bondage” and “they participate in dangerous sex” have become punchlines in family jokes.
