MasterPieces Italian Afternoon 500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle Adults Youths Family - Italy Travel Theme - 15"x21"

So, I bought this puzzle (Travel Diary - San Francisco) specifically because i loved the image so much. Well... never again. I will not buy any puzzles with this artist's (David Maclean) work because their work is not a good fit for puzzles. It looks nice from afar, but I think their style is some sort of photoshop collage situation. Again, it looks nice from afar.. but as a puzzle it's horrible. With a puzzle, you have to hold each individual piece and stare at it closely to see where it will go. I found myself dreading picking up the pieces because I would have to look at these weirdly photoshopped and pixelated images and notice how awkward it all is. Kinda makes me sad because I still do like the art from afar. Personally, I stay away from puzzles that use actual images because usually they seem to be sorta pixelated and as an artist/digital designer myself, I can't handle looking at pixelated images. I usually go for the painted styles like the puzzles with art from Bonnie White, Joe Holodook, and Art Poulin. The lines on those seem to be more crisp and I don't get any of the pixelation that happens on the image based puzzles. I love all of those puzzles.I donated the puzzle because I never wanted to do it again, but I still give the puzzle 3 stars because I love masterpieces puzzles so much. I love the way the pieces are shaped more uniquely than any other puzzles i have found. Masterpieces puzzles are literally the only ones I buy because of those unique pieces.

The puzzle pieces were sturdy and easy to handle.

Love putting together but when I finished, I found it was missing a piece. First time that has happened. I hope it’s the last because I have a few to do and I would hate if it happens again. Would like another one just to get that piece because I glue them once I finish.

I liked the boldness of the colors and the clarity of the images on each piece. I wish it came in 750 pieces to challenge me more. I am retired and like to work puzzles as entertainment. Please add more puzzles like this with more cities like Paris.

I love Masterpiece puzzles and have done many many of them. Some are a little more hallenging than others, to me, but that is the fun of working a puzzles. I just started on the Barcelona puzzle, but it might offer a challenge with the walls on the building. I would highly recommend their puzzles!

I just finished this puzzle last night and plan on ordering another one from MasterPieces today. I like the Travel Diary theme. I liked the NYC scene and the colors were nice and bright.

This puzzle is challenging for sure but still quite enjoyable. The pieces are well made, colorful and their sizes are comfortable. The challenge is that the poster is not quite as precise as other Masterpieces puzzles that I have done (10 so far), however this is only my second that has 550 pieces. I loved it though and have purchased 3 more.

The puzzle itself- how the pieces fit together, the way the pieces were made- are great, but the “artwork” is horrendous. Some of the images are part of a painting, others are stock photos. It’s basically a photoshop collage project.

Nice quality puzzle but missing a piece on the bottom edge. It’s so frustrating to finish a puzzle and have one piece missing.
