the real deal
Strong and secure BUIS. These things are a bargain as irons from troy and magpul have exceeded 3 figures per sight, these sights are a bargain. They stay secure and don't move, consistently holding zero under abuse. Unlike most no name china sights out there, these are the real deal.

Super Nice for the $$$
Made from lightweight aluminum, the rear BUIS is offset to clear charging handle unlike magpul, really nice for the cash. I can't wait to test these out I'll come back and update once used for a few months!

Made in USA
UTG makes good stuff at a reasonable price point. Not everything they sell is US made but these sights are. Very nice fit and finish, no slop or cheapness to them.

Made of metal. Good as light duty use and may break with a good impact.
Decent construction with good material and worth the money I paid for it. Does not have open assist which is fine by me. You only push the button to lower the sight. Took off a star for poor design choices. There are some design issues that are going to be minimal for an average user. I however see avoidable problems that would have been better not included to begin with. The locking system is a pin that has been milled down to be too thin. The area it locks up on is just a single side on the left that lets the sight wiggle 1~2 mils side to side and back and forth. Good enough for backup as they were intended but not for main usage if you are building a gun or if the one you bought had a manufacture too cheap to give you sights.Improvements recommended for the design:Locking in the up position should be done on both sides.Enlarge the lock up surface to be bigger than a #2 pencil lead. (The cone shaped part of the pin is too thin.)The pivot pin should be screwed in similar to how the mounting screw is. Using a steel staked in pin is going to loosen and fail when the materiel it is staked into is very thin Aluminum at the place that is the most violently shaken when fired. The locking pin needs to be moved from the very front to the middle. Where it is at now the material supporting it is way too thin.

Don’t be fooled by the price
This is a great little site for the price. Better built and costs a bit less than the polymer Magpul back up sights that I pulled off two rifles and replaced with these. Made in the USA, built to last and compares with much more expensive brands of back up iron sights.
