A real cluster to install! I finally got it after installing upside down.

This worked well for me. Having read through the reviews, I mostly ignored the install instructions. The first thing I did was turn off all the breakers on the panel. I added some blue tape around the main breaker. I then held the interlock pieces around the main breaker while flipping the breaker on and off to make sure cleared both the main and generator breakers and was straight. After marking the hole positions, I used a clamp to hold the rear interlock plate against the panel and drilled two of the four holes (right through the plate which perfectly guided the bit). I then temporarily installed two screws and drilled the remaining two holes. Note: I used a Rockwell jawhorse to hold the panel while working on it. Not necessary but it made things a bit easier. I used the drill bit that came with the kit; it worked just fine. I was happy the kit didn't come with the advertising label. Before you get started with positioning your interlock, make sure your breakers are all properly centered through the panel openings, including the main breaker. I needed to loosen my panel first and nudge the main breaker a bit to the right so it was centered (used a small thin screwdriver). This helped with getting the interlock aligned correctly. Take your time and you'll get it. Do this when you can turn off the power. Good luck!

I was very happy to find this product. My electrical box is from the 70s. This fits great. Makes it possible to hook my generator to my panel without a transfer switch.

It was a good kit but I followed the directions and had to re-drill the mounting holes. I followed the countour of the breaker as the instructions say but then it wouldn't lock the main in the off position.Other than that it works well. My advice test fit and play with it before drilling.

Have a Cutler Hammer panel with 2 1/4" spacing, that is the kit that I ordered. Either I was shipped the wrong kit, or the instructions are wrong. Took the front of the panel off, drilled the holes as per the instructions, installed the kit, reinstalled the cover and found the the breakers could not be switched. The top metal piece protrudes below the bottom piece by about 1/4". That is not how it shows on the install pictures. Now, it will still work, but I'll need to take it off and move it up a 1/4". Frustrating that after spending $50 for 2 small pieces of metal and a couple screws that the installation would be different than instructed.

Very easy install for cutler breaker box, line up the holes on template, mark, drill and attach. Arrived fast and all pieces were sent. Including stickers.
