RothcoBlack Large Transport Pack

I've been using this pack constantly from since April 2012 for everything from overseas trips to lugging my necessary gear to customer sites etc. I'm a network engineer so I constantly have this pack with me to keep my laptop, my Tab, phone, a pouch with console cables etc, I do keep the bag organized becasue in my line of work it helps to keep me sane.Pros.1) the material is tough, I bought this bag to replace a 13 year old oakley pack (the first one they made) and the material on this new pack is thicker (please read part 2 of my "cons" for the exceptions)2) LOTS of room, I can carry 2 laptops, a pouch stuffed to the gills with an innumerable amount of interface and power cables.3) Rings, lugs and pockets make Travel so much easier, there are D rings on the shoulder straps, I attach a pouch with my passport and travel docs to the lower one which makes it so easy for me to reach rather than having to take it off my shoulder and dig around inside. My keys are on a carabiner on the upper ring.Cons1) the bottom of the bag seems pretty tough but not as tough as the oakley bag. sorry, I loved the bottom of that bag, it was bulletproof.2) the shoulder straps are a bit asymmetrical, I have a hard time finding the sweetspot where I feel the pack is balanced on my back, also the range of strap adjustment is a bit limited and the straps themselves are a bit on the thin side. The oakley straps were thick and well padded, but then again, the oakley pack was twice the price.All in all, FOR THE PRICE, I would think this bag was worth the buy and I would recommend it.Chris.

This bag is awesome! Bag is very durable and has lots of potential. The pockets are HUGE! The mesh on the inside touching your bag is nice innovation for heat, better then the typical feel of cheapness of other quality bags. Also good enough padding so I have a security of placing my laptop and tablet inside ( and for the fact that you can put both is a plus! )This bag is a really nice quality. With many potential. For the price that it has, its WAY worth then buying brand names for 100 plus dollars for crappy quality and no room for potential. Potential meaning the size it can expand, the big pockets, d clips and attachments multiple buckles and probably more than I use.Update 10/27/2012Recently within the week. The 2nd Pocket (Middle Pocket, or Second Largest Pocket) ripped on the seams. Like not ripped as in the material but where the stitches would be. I'm not really stuffing the bag with heavy items, I know I put more awkward shaped items in that specific pocket, like the recent event example (a body wash bottle), and I zipped it over just pulling the material closer together and it ripped from the outside.I'm not stating that this product is bad in anyway but off all places where there is alot of weight or stress, it's probably gonna be that point. Another thing is the straps that are on each zipper, they are easy to come off if you just pull it. I can put it back on, but I never expected that from this bag, I would be more happier with a zipper handle that was more solid, or single material.

NIce quality pack for day hikes or for a GHB. Good Rothco quality. Quality zippers and water resistant construction throughout. Very roomy in the main compartment. I can't imagine not having enough room for all of my stuff. As others have mentioned the straps are a little on the thin side. I've read in other reviews that the sternum strap is a little on the high side if you're tall (I'm 6'2") and I agree. However, they are adjustable if you remove the strap and move it further down the shoulder strap.My biggest complaint with the pack (and reason for 4 stars, not 5) is that it is advertised as "hydration pack compatible". I ordered a Rothco 3L bladder for it and although it fits fine in the water bladder compartment, there are no hooks or other ways to prevent the bladder from sliding down into the compartment to the bottom. I wondered (hoped?) whether I had received a defective pack, but I contacted Rothco and was told that this is the way they are made. I have to rig up some sort of hook-and-loop deal to try and keep the bladder upright. Other than that I'm happy with it.

Durable and large, this bag was purchased about a year ago and has been used in the field often. I put this bag though its paces fully loaded with gear and a 3L camelbak hydration bladder. Holds all my gear securely and surprisingly comfortably. I am 5'10" and a bit on the leaner side but it fit very well. Plenty of space for all my normal camping/hiking gear and has a well thought out design. MOLLE Straps are well made and I easily carried two MOLLE attached 1L canteens on the bag no problem.The bag is quite durable and upon inspection, no frayed ends, loose threads or other negatives were observed. the material is high quality and well made. After a few uses, and a short tumble down the side of a hill once (oops) the bag performed flawlessly.I would recommend this bag for any camping/hiking/hunting/B.O.B situation provided the size of the bag is what you are looking for.

These packs are strong and do exactly what they're supposed to do. They hold quite a lot, as advertised, but when full you'll find the belts a little short. The only other thing I can gripe about is the lack of drain holes; fortunately these are built with adequate rain flaps over the zippers and if I really think I'll need drain holes I can easily install them without any trouble. Again, despite my crabbing, these are excellent packs and well worth the price.UPDATE: 2016/02/29 Still using them! Only gripe: the shoulder straps are sewn directly into the stitching, so they have a tendency to tear on the edges. Thankfully that's an easy repair, so these are still doing a great job.

July 2021 - I’d read the other reviews here and seen the reviewer photos so I was a little bit nervous about this purchase.But everything is all good. I checked the bag over thoroughly the moment it arrived and everything seems up to my expected level of quality. The weakest point appears to be the zippers but they seem “ok”I ordered the bright red bag with the intent of using it as an emergency go-bag.Not clear from the photos but there is a small square patch of soft side velcro included on the back facing surface aprox. 2” square.Would buy again.Will update review if anything goes wrong.

ロスコはコストパフォーマンスの高い商品が多くて私にとってはありがたい！しかし、やっぱり値段相応の商品です。買って早々にチャックのプラスチック製グリップ部分が取れました。細かいところはしっかり作られてない。メッシュの小物入れのチャックは、最後まで引くと取れました。本格ミリタリーバックパックを求めて買うことはオススメしません。ただ、生地はしっかりしているため長く使えそう。

ジッパーが外れるとゆう不良品でした、不良品でなければ星4日5でも良いかと

容量が大きく、荷物もたくさん入った。　毎日、通学に使用しいましたが、3か月くらいで縫い目が裂け、思った以上に貧弱な作りでした。

以前使っていたものより二周りほど大きい。大は小を兼ねる。素材や造りもしっかりしていてよい。ぼろぼろになるまで、使い倒したい感じ。
