Good chew, slightly sweet, nice spicy bite, but the packaging needs help.Product arrived last night and I broke right into it. The pieces are fresh and have a nice chew, along with a good 'bite' of ginger spice. The downfall is the cheap plastic packaging. When packed, they did not zip the zipper - which is ok as it's heat sealed and air tight in transit.. but allowed sugar granules to get into the track of the zipper, so it wouldn't close properly once opened.. I couldn't get it to seal closed again.I will have to find a better air tight container and transfer it. It's a bummer that to save a few pennies in packaging/processing left a frustrating experience. Not quite a full 5-star experience : (

This is my new favorite crystallized ginger. Very good quality. The texture is nice and the flavor is sweet and a little spicy, but not too hot. Every piece is fresh and identically sized.

I think one of the problem that producers have with dried ginger root, is that it is difficult to eat in it's raw form: fibrous, bitter and difficult to digest. So we have the highly processed dried ginger root from powder to small "nuggets" primarily used in baking and cooking. Then we have the candy, dried strips and gummy preparations. This gummy version is actually quite good tasting, still has some of the fibrous texture and puts everything on the package as to how it was made. My biggest problem with all gummy type ginger products is the amount of sugar they use to coat the finished product. For me, all that sugar takes away from the flavour of the ginger in the gummy. Like other gummy products I've bought, I pour the entire contents into in a fairly porous cheese cloth bag and shake the hell out of it over a good size ceramic bowl. I use the sugar collected in cooking, especially useful in making ginger cookies, muffins and breads. This product is a bit pricey, but the best ginger gummy products are.

The warning does not show on the page that you order it. This cause lots of heart problems. I did not see that you could not return it or I would not have ordered this item. It taste like a disinfectant and some of the ingredients can be a disinfectant.I am not happy to pay that much and not be able to return it. It gave false information. ℹ️ should be able to send back and get my money back. I will be sure to put this on all my public accounts. To make sure no one else gets this by mistake.

I ordered a smaller bag of this ginger because I wanted to make Ginger cookies for my friends here at "Shady Acres" retirement village. They were a hit! People have been issuing strong "hints" that more of them would really be a treat. Soon, I was out of the small bag of crystallized ginger.That, my friends, was the reason for the re-order of the HUGE bag.Now I've ordered a stand mixer which should make my job easier.My buddies here will be happy.
