Buying in bulk safes money. Shipping was longer than expected. Excellent and useful gardening perlite at a resonable price. I have extra to gift to my gardening friends.

It is what it is. Not as good as pumice for multiple use. Disintegrates into useless powder in time. However hard to beat price and availability.

Always add perlite for better drainage and less compaction of planting mediums.

Many places around me sell peat in 4 cubic ft bales, but the only available perlite is the 8 qt bags from Miracle Grow. I have no idea how that makes any sense. In my containers I use 2 parts peat, 1 part perlite, 1 part compost from the town supply, and .25 part worm castings. For my raised beds, I use equal parts peat and perlite, with castings and compost. This stuff is fantastic! I would say equal to a 4 cubic ft bale of peat so it is easy to do a 1:1 or a 2:1. And the concerns others have raised about the dust was not a problem for me. I made sure not to lay it on a windy day and quickly misted with a hose. It mixes quite easily with the peat. Truly a godsend to have found this bulk supply. Yes it takes a little longer to arrive (definitely not two day prime, but within a week (I am on the east coast). Boxed well on the outside (Uline) and then bagged well, I would say the bag has a similiar durability to a big bag of dogfood. Very easy for me to move, pick up, spread (I'm pushing the elderly woman category). I immediately ordered a second bag and would not hesitate to order again. And the price is fantastic for how much you get.

Great price for product compared to big box stores. Perlite is a good grade for coco coir mix application. If you can store it. Package is equivalent to a 2 cu ft bag of mulch. Mix outside/garage/patoo etc, just do not mix inside living area. PRODUCT IS DUSTY. I suggest wearing a mask😷

Great value for money. Comes neatly packed and easy to store in the same box. Helps with good aeration of potting mix . Plants are thriving... very happy.

A few other reviewers have complained about the amount of dust in the bag. This happens with all perlite and is simply more noticeable with the large amounts. If you are concerned about yourself, pets or children inhaling the perlite dust, a good way to get rid of it is to put all of the perlite down on a large tarp on a day when it’s not too windy, ideally raining just a bit (but if not, you can use a hose). Wet all the perlite and fold & slightly tip the tarp towards a drain or whatever so that the white water rinses off without the perlite coming with it. Repeat a few times until the water is mostly clear. You can just put it straight into your potting mix while wet if you already have the compost, coir and soil ready. If not then just lay out the tarp in a garage or somewhere it won’t get blown around by wind while the remaining water evaporates, at which point you can put it back in the bag and as long as the bag isn’t shaken up too much to break up more of the perlite you won’t have any more of those big plumes of dust when pouring it.
