Reviewed by spouse (but husband note - this thing looks absolutely ridiculous but works amazingly well):OK, this was a crazy purchase, but I think it’s actually going to work quite well. I have had two bouts with skin cancer, but still want to be able to enjoy going to the lake or the ocean, and need more protection than a regular hat can provide. A lot of times the hats get wet and they don’t hold their form so they don’t provide a lot of protection. Even though this looks a little strange to be wearing out and about in the water, I think it’ll serve a really good purpose. It was pretty easy to open. It’s sort of like an umbrella and you just have to make sure that that little white/clear piece from the inside goes all the way through the top small opening of the “umbrella like covering” and it’ll lock in place. To get it to “deflate”, you just press the little clear/white button on the top of the umbrella and it’ll go back down through the hole and will deflate per see. It can get wet with the waves and hold it form and provide significant sun protection. The only thing I think they can improve upon would be making the hat portion inside adjustable as it’s a bit too big for me.

Works great. Keeps you cool in the sun and can withstands the wind and rain. Very happy I bought two of them.

Plastic body not to last for long time.

It's not very tight on the head and I couldn't find any way to make it tighter.A bit of wind, and it will move off position. I ended up holding it in place for most of the time, which defeated the purpose of it being hands free.It's a shame, really. They had a great idea on their hands.
