If I could do 4.5 I would
These are some pretty good boots, they have very nice tread that doest allow too much mud at any givin time to cake up on it but however gives you extremely nice grip and life to them. I have had these boots for over a year now so I feel it is time to rate them. Now what I have been using these boots for is hiking, caving and rock climbing and on a lot of my hikes and climbs I have tortured these boots. They have held up very well however since I don't use them on a consistent basis I was expecting tem to hold up a little better. In a span of 8 or so months I noticed the soul on my left boot was completely comin off. Fixing took just gorilla glue and good as new however if you are going to wear these non-stop everyday I might be a little concerned about that. The tread itself with hard rock climbs and hikes over touch terrain is still in outstanding shape excluding the tip of the toe (again die to rock climbs) and the ball of my foot which is to be expected after a year. I have loved the zipper allowing me to forget about lacing everytime I need my boot on and off, something very helpful when crossing a river and getting right back to hiking. Honestly these are very good boots I do concider buying again but just that the soul came off with limited use so quickly kinda puts me of just a bit, it is also still possible to roll your ankle even though they are high tops. Very good boot and worth the money depending what you want with them, mine will am are still in use after a year and only 1 minor/easy repair.

My second pair!
This is my second pair! I specialize in commercial roof restorations. I’m on my feet anywhere from 8-14 hrs a day. Sometimes I need to hop out of my boots real quick and switch to pressure washing boots. The zipper on the side has been crucial for that. These have been one of the more durable pair of boots I’ve owned and I’ve tried A LOT of different boots. My other pair lasted over six years of hardcore use and abuse. Here’s to hoping these do the same!

OMG! I love them!
I know these are men's but I used convert chart to get women's sizes and the boots fit great. I bought them for my first camping trip and I wore them jogging a few times to break them in which I felt wasn't necessary after the fact. I wore with some hiking socks and the boots were very comfortable the whole four days of hiking. I love the fact that I stepped in water and my toes didn't instantly get wet. They are water resistant not water proof which is what I was wanting so that they do breathe a little. It provide great support for my ankle & my feet weren't sore at all.. The zipper on the side is my favorite part making it so easy when camping or hiking for quick removal or quickly getting them on. Once you have your laces set you don't have to keep re-lacing everytime you put your shoes on. It seems like very durable material and well worth what I paid for. They even look great with my shorty shorts! I'm usually little accident prone but they protected my feet and I actually kept my balance a lot better then when I hiked in sneakers. They were very well package and in perfect condition. I thought to buy hiking shoes from other places but I'm glad I went with these boots, price and quality are outstanding. The only thing that I was concerned about is it seemed to have a wide toe area, which I'm told is a good thing. I liked that I could still wiggle my toes but I didn't really have any issues with it, so it's probably I'm just used to my platform heels squeezing my toes together.Overall very happy with these boots and I do highly recommend them.

Best boot in it's price range in my eyes
This is a pretty tough boot let me say that outright. I abused these boots in multiple hikes and smaller rock climbs and they held up really well. I got the desert tan and the sued stained pretty easily as one would expect so if you want your boots looking clean keep up on the upkeep. I absolutely LOVED the zipper, I now own a pair of asolos and every time I lace them up I think of these boots and how I miss them haha. The tree is deep and very well, I was able to hold traction on steep angles and different terrain situations. Easy access to on AMD off allows you the freedom to keep your feet cool by taking them off And allows you faster time on the trail when it comes to river crossings. Honestly I LOVED these boots, however the sole did split off the shoe just after a few months of having them. As easy fix was gorilla glue AMD I've not had an issue since but I know I will have the issue again consistent use. Worth the 70$ in my eyes, just take care of the boots and "baby" them or buy a higher quality boot for a lot more.

Great Purchase:)
First of all, I would like everyone to know that I'm ex-military. Therefore, I have worn plenty of G.I. issued combat boots. G.I. combat boots are always uncomfortable, and have the weight of a brick. These combat boots from Rothco are a godsend! They are a half a size too big but that's okay because it leaves room for some gel soles and thick socks. I just received them, and I've been walking around the house in my new boots and my underwear all morning lol. These boots are comfortable and super lightweight. The zipper is plastic but seems sturdy enough. Steal in the toe and sole! Outstanding! Only one complaint, no pull up loop on back of the boot. No biggie, I will have my local shoe repair guy add some. All in all, well worth the money. I'm going hiking in the mountains this Sunday so I will update this review to let you know how they performed. Until then, I give this boot five stars because they don't allow more then five stars:)Update: 9/9/2014I have worn these boots for a while now. I have been hiking, camping, and just wearing them for fun. These boots are actually a size too big. So order them accordingly. These boots are tough, and comfortable. I would have paid more for them. Excellent boots, and well worth the money.

12w
I have tried to order these boot 3 times now. The very first time I thought I just ordered the wrong size. The second and third time I was paying attention. No matter what size I order, it automatically switchs to 12w as the size. That's aggravating

Good boots
These are nice boots, they hold up well, and they are comfortable. The zipper feels good, but you need to pull both ends together pretty far. I like the light tan color of the boots. They dont have the best grip on ice. These run about a size big, still feels good loose just gives extra room for thick wool socks. Like these boots so much I bought a second pair, if you are cross shopping id also consider Bates boots, but avoid the Propper brand.

Comfortable, light
Had them for years! Comfortable, light. Gonna buy a second pair for when the first pair wears out.

Great boots for the price! - or so it seemed
Nice pair of boots. I have a few or rothcos products, and they are all high quality. They are extremely light and very comfortable. I am very happy with them, they fit true to size compared to any shoe I have ever owned. No idea what all the fuss about sizing is. Just order them already.Edit: so two years later I am not as excited about them. I didn't use them all that often, only when I was camping or doing outdoor stuff. probably a total of about 40-5 days of wearing them (albeit they were getting well used during those days) The insole came apart really quickly leaving a very sharp claw from the shank exposed. I got new insoles for them after about 3 months. the zipper recently broke on one of them so I was faced with either paying to get a new zipper to put in, or just say screw it and get new boots. I opted for the latter, and I can safely say I wouldn't buy these again.

not bad so far
Just got them, do not bother asking for a size smaller, play it safe order your normal size and if they are to big, put in an insole and wear some thicker socks. If humping around i would rather a boot a little too big than a pair being uncomfortably tight. So far first impressions are not too bad for the price, super light.
