Buy It
I cannot compare this album to any other I have heard. It is good though. A kind of rappish/instumental/visionary/something type of thing. You will get your Mike Patton fix too. He does share the vocal aspect with others though. Get out you tap dancing shoes and tap along if nothing else. You must have it.

Not greater than the sum of its parts, but still great
This album has been a bit of a journey; years in the making and that has given me plenty of time to imagine to myself what it might sound like... and I was completely wrong, which threw me at first, but this has come to be an album that I will listen to repeatedly... sometimes more than once in the same day.I am a big fan of Patton's work and I like TV on the Radio (as well as Tunde's guest spot with Massive Attack) ...I'm less familiar with Doseone but in a way it doesn't particularly matter who you're a fan of as there is so much mixing and swapping of ideas here that you'd be hard pressed to say who has done what; the song "Mr Mistake" (easily the poppiest, most accessible number on the album) sounds suspiciously like a TVotR song produced by Doseone, yet in a recent AMA they revealed that that song came initially from Patton! The songs run the gamut from atmospheric vocal-ambience passages, through to punchy hiphop, chanting and throat-singing, a pumping alt-pop sound.... some tracks are tighter/poppier than others, some drift on in quite a loose fashion but each song gives you some hook to 'hang your hat' on, with the 3 guys firing out alternating vocals one after the other, you'll occasionally lose track of who is singing what... which is how it should be really. The album mainly loses a star because the final track just really hasn't clicked for me, the rest of the album is great, surprisingly infectious.

Pretty awesome. I would say this album is closest to his work on peeping tom or General Patton vs. the x-ecutioners. Love the "treat um like a prostitute" hook lol gotta love patton
