Mad Cow Cutlery steels are made for us by a leading sharpener manufacturer in Germany. Our steels are produced in the same factory as many of the leading high priced German brands on the market. Our Dual Cut Packinghouse Steel, is a round rod with two sides polished to keep a straight edge, and two sides with micro-fine cut to allow for some sharpening if needed. It is like getting two steels in one. Unlike other packinghouse steels, we had our manufactured with a slightly larger diameter - not enough to add too much extra weight, but enough to add more contact surface and for added balance.
