I am no expert, I am really nothing when it comes to fishing. I started when we moved to Louisiana and a neighbor taught me how to fish from the Cane River Lake and so it began. I just fish because they are tasty. My form is probably laughable. I started with big box store poles and when I needed something better, I came here to Amazon. One of my original poles broke from being left outside (think horses) and so I still had a simple functional reel but no pole. That is why I attained this.I like that it compacts down. This would have been so handy carrying poles in my sedan. It compacts down to about 17" and the extends out to about 5.5 feet long. This means it is shorter then my husbands pole and my normal pole. But functional. I like the plastic cap to keep it from extending out in storage.I plan on getting a new spinning reel for it and not the junk reel on in now and make it a visitor spare or keep it in the car for fishing emergencies, Ha.Overall good quality pole for the retail price, better than a big box store pole.
