I bought a terrible quality shemagh of a different brand a while back. Dye ran, the weave was VERY loose, and it just felt like horrible quality. This one is WAY more like it. It's light and airy, like it should be, but substantial enough in the weave to serve the variety of purposes that most people hope to keep a shemagh around for. It filters particles, blocks sun and wind, wraps nicely, and is accurately measured. True to color, too. Which is nice. I was prepared for this to suck, and was very pleasantly surprised by how much it didn't. If I ever needed another for whatever reason, I would be perfectly happy buying another of this same type.

Nice, good print, good quality. Fabric is a little stiff, but it will soften after a couple of washes

I ordered this as kind of a gamble. I have a few shemaghs. Some for hiking/camping and one or two for just a head covering. Many of the traditional black/white or red/white color scheme ones on Amazon are cheap polyester. The more dressy than functional ones. The more earthy/rougher looking colors are common. This shemagh is an all cotton one from India. 43 x 43 medium weight and well made. Not quite from Lebanon/Palestine etc but very well made with bright colors. I ordered a Palestinian one and will compare but this one as far as I can see is top notch. I hope Rothco maintains their supply chain because they could end up being the go-to guys for shemaghs.

I ordered two of these. Red/white and OD/Black. The first thing I did is open them to make sure both of them were Rothco. Which they were. From what I've read reviews-wise, Rothco sells the best quality ones on Amazon. The second thing I did was wrap them on my head to see how they fit. These are the big ones, so they fit well. Then I washed them. I was a little confused as to how to wash them. Washing them by hand was the best conclusion I could come to. And it wasn't hard. I just did it in my kitchen sink with some detergent. They didn't bleed from what I could see, there were no frayed strings. And I used warm water, and washed them rather vigorously.Overall I'm very pleased with them. I will be wearing them in the sun and this winter when it's cold. I'm sure I may get some funny looks (which isn't what I'm going for), but I'm going for function. If you're torn as to which brand to order, order Rothco!
