AvoDerm Natural Dry & Wet Dog Food, For Skin & Coat, Chicken & Rice Formula(12 count)

Got this for my 4 year old German Shepherd who has allergy issues. It caused vomiting and diarrhea so severe I had to bring her to the vet (which cost me $500). I thought it may be because she sometimes has a sensitive stomach so I decided that I was going to give the rest of it to my Pyrenees mix who pretty much has a cast iron stomach. Nope.. He got explosive diarrhea as well.I later read that avocados (one of the main ingredients in this dog food) contain a chemical called persin which is toxic to dogs and can cause vomiting and diarrhea. Why would you make dog food out of ingredients that are known to be dangerous to dogs?

My dog was having terrible skin problems and she was on Merrick. It was to the point where I had to get her on prescription medication from the vet. Which I didn’t want to leave her on long term. So I did some research and tried this, since avocados are so good for people’s skin and hair.. After about a half a bag she stop scratching. I reordered it hopefully this is the reason she’s gotten relief. I’ve also noticed that her poops are more solid.

I got my dog from a shelter. He came with a list of skin and coat problems , mainly yeast . He was like a little roll of dough and allergic to life at times it seems. I tried a few different foods trying to find the one he would respond best too. He gets raw and home cooked foods but I also needed a quick meal for busy days and his breakfast. I love this food and he seems to return the sentiment 😁 Most of the yeast is gone ( he also gets baths and sprays for it but before the food change it only kept it from getting worse , not better like now ) , his coat went from patchy and feeling like wire to filled in and soft, he's gained weight ( he was way under weight and didn't gain before even with supplemental feedings with previous dry foods) and he has energy & is playful now and before he was just an extra rug . I will definitely keep buying this product.

I have two Aussies (one is a recent edition! ;) ) My older Aussie has had skin problems his whole life with flare ups every 2-3 months. I've tried everything: supplements, shampoos and conditioners, shots and steroids. Everything before AvoDerm had given him short term relief for his allergy caused dry skin and hot spots, popping back up as soon as it was out of his system. I switched him to AvoDerm about 5-6 years ago after his previous food (Purina brand) was recalled with a scary legal battle. I'm so glad I did and I'm KICKING myself for not discovering AvoDerm sooner! His coat is shiny and his skin is flake free year round. His vet is STILL floored at the difference this food has made for him. I'm terrified to feed my new addition anything but AvoDerm, haha. Especially considering that new Aussie came to us with Parvo. She wouldn't eat the prescription food or any of the home suggestions and it got to the point I was having to force feed her. This was the ONLY food she'd eat willingly & I owe AvoDerm that for saving her life. My dogs will always eat AvoDerm. :)

I've been searching for a new food for my two small pups. They were eating Crave but now just seem tired of it. We tried Blue, Wellness Core, and Organix...too expensive for food they don't really like and just sits in the bowl until they get desperately hungry or worse, it turns into cement. Kinda like when your mom put food on your plate that you just stared at and could only get down if you were really, really hungry. I remember those days vividly and hate to think of my little canines living that way :(And so the arduous (but loving) task began...reading endless reviews and watching youtube videos on every ounce of 🐕 food I could find until I couldn't remember this one from that one anymore....but alas, could it be...have we found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? 🌈 Ok, I'm a little dramatic..I get it...but it's only been two days, literally...and already I'm super stoked...my little pups are scarfing down this food like a kid scarfing down birthday cake.They obviously love the flavor (chicken & rice) and so far digestion is going great...yay!I'm so impressed already, that I've orderd the avoderm "original" flavor too.I only have one question, why the picture amazon sent of my pkg being delivered was NOT a picture my front door but somebody else's :/To be continued......Okay, now we have a problem :/We ordered the "original" flavor after trying the chicken & rice. (which they loved) Now my one little diva pup decided to snub the chicken & rice in favor of the original. Second pup will eat either. Overall, this food is great...glad we found it

My dog was suffering from skin rashes and outbreaks weekly. Our veterinarian said it was allergies from most likely grass, pollen, etc. We did not think it was food related. After trying all sorts of things with no success, I decided to try this food to see if it would at least held ease the rashes and outbreaks, and comfort my dog a little bit. He has been eating this food for a month now, and has not had a single skin outbreak! I am shocked how much his skin has improved, and his itching and discomfort have severely decreased. Another benefit is how shiny and soft his coat has become. He is a mutt and has coarse, thick hair, and his coat feels so good now! Our pup still licks his paws and they are irritated at times, but this food has made a dramatic difference overall on his skin! Highly recommend at least trying this if your dog is suffering from any type of allergy!

My dog loves this food we've been buying it for about 5 months now. It helps him alot with his skin (dandruff and alot of itching), it has almost stopped his scratching completely but still has dandruff. It has helped him put on some weight since he seems to shed it right off. But his coat is shiny and looks beautiful. My dog really likes this food. I just wish it wasnt as expensive so I try to window shop for it .

Every single can in a 24-can order is dented. Some slightly but others much more. None are dented so much that they are open. I can understand a few dented cans but not every single can.
