This series - formula that keeps on working for me. Hot Guy + (uh...what else do you need?)
Lost count of how many KA books I've read. This is a very fun series. Less intense than the others I really love (Burg/Colorado), but this formula really works. Hot, hunky, alpha male (that can go from basic grunting as a form of communication - to flowery words of love and deep emotions). The woman change a little bit from book to book. This one, Jules, is goofy (which is a character trait that all the rock chicks share), but she has great fighting and shooting skills. She is a woman who is working to get drugs off the streets of her town and is willing to do anything to save 'at risk' kids from being victims of these drug lords.Vance is hot and hunky - but KA is able to write him to show the depth of his hurt (from childhood) and depth of his feelings for Jules. The formula for these books: H/h fall for each other, h seems to pull away, H pulls h back into relationship, Rock Chicks adopt h into the group, there is a very bad guy/person/group of people out to get h, h gets hurt/abducted/attacked, H and fellow alpha-dude help to save the day. HEA.What I like about this book:- Hot steamy scenes. wow- Vance is a man of little words, but he is devoted- Jules is strong and can kick butt. Love a strong female lead that isn't shy, weak and broken- Supporting cast- love that the other Rock Chicks and their studs are such an important part of the book- The storyline worked. Jules realizes that she cannot save the world - but does her best to try. She is a noble person- HEA- No cliff hangersWhat I didn't like about this book:- Hate how Vance keeps telling jules to "shut up" even though it is meant more like an eye roll.- Jules cries a lot for a kick butt woman- The H and h have instant chemistry and go nuts for each other almost immediately. I guess if the books were longer, the romance could be built up differently, but it's instantaneous- How Jules tries to keep pulling away from Vance. Ugh, how can such an independent woman be so insecure?- I miss the amazing epilogues that KA has in her other series. None here. :-(Great, fun reading.Read it and enjoy!

Rock Solid Men Rules
I have become a Rock Chick fan. I can't put the series down. I had become tired from the highly explicit sex scenes from authors like Lora Leigh (although I am a Breed fan) and couldn't quite return to the Harlequin Romance series to feed my need of strong Alpha males; Kristen Ashley fills the void. Vance is described so vividly that I can picture him. He is totally He-Man and if you are looking for a gentler, kinder male - you might not enjoy this series. My favorite part is after Vance claims that Jules is his and then says "what we have genuinely doesn't seem like its gonna work, we'll talk it through and come to an understanding. ...You lie in bed in the moonlight when you think it doesn't count and you let me in. I'm telling you now... it counts, Jules." After reading and seeing the effects of high commitment phobic males walking away from their wives and children; I go home fantasizing about a "Vance." Vance is definitely rock solid in this series.

Another great Rock Chick story
This is my 4th Rock Chick book - and I didn't think I would read #2. But there's something addictive about this series and all the people in it. They all have their place in each story, as they are added to the series. And now we have Jules Lawler (The Law) and Vance Crowe. Yeah, the Nightingale boys move fast, but that's just a known factor now and I'm good with it. KA dives right into the story - no wasted words or actions. She is one damn fine romance writer - and just writer period. I'm a Baby Romance Writer, KA, and I'm taking notes. No, I'd never copy another author, but her storytelling techniques are top-notch - in any genre these are the kinds of things that matter. She really stays focused on the story she's telling and there's no downtime for the reader. This story was compelling, had real 3-dimensional characters acting in human-recognizable ways, and the action was always there - whether it was a sex scene or something happening in a bar or restaurant, at Fortnum's bookstore and cafe, or down-and-dirty meetings with some bad people. I was completely satisfied when I finished reading this book. Same way I feel after reading any of your books from any of the series. But Rock Chicks def has my attention and loyalty! Kick some ass, KA!

One of my favorites
This is one of my favorite in the series. Next to Eddie and Lee, Vance is my favorite of the hot bunch. What I like about this book, is that although Vance is as tough as the other men in the series, we realize that he is the most vulnerable. He had a really rough childhood, and never had any love. He is very possessive of Julie, since she is the only good and loving person he has ever had. He wasn't as sure of himself or as in your face as the other men in the series were, but his love felt deeper. Julie was a great female character. I like that she actually knew what she was doing, and could defend herself. The other girls in the series, go off on crazy schemes, but they don't really know how to fight, or really defend themselves. Julie was one tough cookie. Also, this is one of the books in the series that you can't miss since there are some major changes for some of the minor characters. Darious, Shirleen, and Dawn all have life altering things happen to them in this book. So if you plan on reading future books, this one is key in clarinfying these changes. We also get to meet Eddie's brother, Hector, in this book.

KA is a great author
I love Kristen Ashley! I was looking for a new series while waiting on Ilona Andrews next release and came across the Rock chick series and was blown away! Since then, I have read every single book written by KA. Even if I didn't think I'd like the story, I read it anyway and was never disappointed. I highly recommend this series. You don't have to read them in order but it does add a little extra to the experience if you do.
