Wow just Wow
I purchased a inexpensive ring flash and some closeup lenses (the kind that screw in front of your lens) for a project. The ring flash uses adaptors that also screw into the lens, but they are made of plastic and not threaded on the inside. The adaptors for the flash weren't able to screw far enough into my filter or close up lens to not deform and fall out.As I was under a time crunch, I found a work around by not using the flash, however knowing I would want to use the flash at a later time i looked for an answer, then it hit me an adaptor ring might work. The cost of the Breakthrough item was double the price of others, but it was made from brass and in the USA so I bought it.It arrived today and boy howdy it was so well made and packaged it took me all of one second to know i had made the right move, well worth it.By the way, this adaptor cost almost as much as the ring flash but I will be using it way after that flash bites the dust.Great product, thank you

Step up Ring
This was exactly was I was expecting. It is easy to use and has not had issues of locking up. They feel solid, which was a concern on seeing how some other are made. I am using them in combination of my L glass and polar pro filters. Overall, I would recommend them.

Surprisingly impressed
I'd never heard of Breakthrough before. I only bought this because it was one of the only brass rings on Amazon that would ship quickly. After finding out they're based in California and handling the ring in person, I've purchased several more Breakthrough products, including one of their CP filters and some more adapter rings. All super solid, well-made, brass.

Excellent product. Buy this over Aluminum step-up adapters
Breakthrough Photography's step-up lens adapter ring is firstly made from brass and not aluminum. Just like B+W's filters which are made from brass, this is important because brass expands and contracts at different temperatures than aluminum. In essence this adapter ring will stay true to form better than an equivalent aluminum one, allowing you to easily attach and remove it and not have the dreaded stuck filter syndrome whereby the filter you have attached to your lens has expanded or contracted just enough that you can no longer remove it (at least until the temperature has normalized again).Living in the South where we have long hot summers, this is important to me and one of the main reasons I thought I would try this step-up adapter. The adapter has an electroplated black finish to it so that it fairly much matches your lens and this is harder to scratch and look bad. It also helps with weathering making this weather and corrosion proof.Breakthrough Photography's adapter also has a ribbed outer edge which is excellent as it gives you much needed grip making it very easy to screw on and off your lens and also for when you are attaching and removing your filter. The main reason I got this adapter is that I have a bunch of filters for my Canon 24-70IIL lens which takes a 82mm filter, but I also have the Canon 100-400IIL and the 70-200IIL lenses which take 77mm filters. This step-up adapter would allow me to use my 82mm filters on my other L lenses removing the need to buy separate 77mm versions of each filter (which are over $100 a pop aren't exactly cheap). I tested this out this weekend with the solar eclipse. I have a 82mm ND10000 solar filter which I wanted to use on my 100-400 lens. It worked flawlessly. The filter fit fine, with the ribbed outer edge I could very quickly remove the filter during totality and quickly screw it back on once totality finished. It worked a charm.I realize this is slightly more expensive than the cheaper aluminum step-up filter adapters but it is thoroughly worth it.

Works as intended, filters don't stick
I use this primarily with a variable ND filter, and it works as intended. I have not had a problem with filters getting stuck or bound in this step up ring which can be a problem with some step up rings. This step up ring has held up well with repeated use, and is affordable. Recommended.

WOW
Was a little annoyed that I had to buy new filters to replace all of my 77mm filters to fit with a new 82mm Nikon Z series lens. Oh well I'll just get some more (annoying) step up rings. Annoying because I have to carry them and annoying because, working events and things like that as a full timer, I'm bumping and banging gear around. And having a larger filter "hanging off" the edge of a smaller opening lens makes for another spot to catch or damage something.Well. These arent the aluminum, sheet metal feeling crummy step rings that became so common! And so commonly become stuck that I carry a filter wrench in my case. These are heavy and ever so slightly "flexible" as only brass can be when you screw it into your lens threads. Which means far less of a chance of getting it stuck. Nice finish and super nice knurled edge that might just make the need for a filter wrench obsolete. Time will tell on that one.Just bought a couple more sizes! Will update as I use them in the real world on jobs from cold to humid to dusty conditions. But I'm feeling good right out of the box and during the first few uses.

Tienen que comprar esto ya!
La calidad es súper increíble, si inviertes en un buen filtro y buen lente tienes que comprar este ya que. NO es para cualquiera por el costo.

It spins on an off almost by itself, even though not broken in.
There is no disliking this product. The quality of this item exemplifies why you can use one filter set with multiple lenses, unless duplicating gear is your setup. After decades of using aluminum framed filters and adapters I can’t overstate how this item is not like any of those gritty, glitchy and jammed up sticky “alloy” mounts are.A light touch to install or remove is all that’s needed. Don’t squeeze it, just spin it.Value? It’s 10x more $ than “alloy” but you will be happy to have paid for something that works with you not against.Sturdy until you drop it. It is brass after all. But I’ve never dropped a filter in 40 years.

Outstanding product!
This is well worth the money if you are attaching and detaching filters with relitive frequencyVery very sturdy brass design with matt black anodised coatingThe nurled edges makes removal of both filter and lens a breezeHaving a £130 VND filter getting stuck multiple times a week on a cheap neewer filter will not happen again10/10

Excellent quality.
Adapter rings are not the most glamorous of photographic accessories, but the difference between very good ones, like the Breakthrough and some others is significant.Being anodised brass means problems such as 'tight' or binding threads is much, much less than even anodised aluminium. The Breackthrough has a 'scalloped' edge which makes gripping to install and undo is very easy, once you've experienced this feature you really appreciate it.Given the quality of materials and manufacture this is excellent value.
