Power & Beauty: A Love Story of Life on the Streets

Everybody is saying how this book sucks and it lacks so much and it has so much profanity. Now a days any book you pick up has profanity, and no story line, but at the end of the book if it has you wanting to find out what happens then that is a good book. I love to read and I always had a book in my hand or in my bag no matter where I was. This book took a couple of chapters for me to get use to but it was really a good book. For this book to be T.I. first book it was pretty good and I can't wait to read the second book to figure out what happen. People need to realize that this man is a well round man who has a future in writing more and more books. People need to stop being so harsh and stop judging him because he is a rapper and a actor and realize that he has potential to do anything he wants.T.I. I really enjoyed reading this book compared to many other books this was a good first time writing for you and I enjoyed reading it. People need to stop being so critical and really understand were this book is coming from and obviously they don't. I enjoyed reading the book and I really do like it and I can't wait for the second one I already per-ordered it.Good Job

I am a really fast reader, and it took me FOREVER to get through Power & Beauty. The story of a boy and his adopted sister has the potential to be a really gripping read, but it is extremely slow and could have been written so much better. The story ends and despite how long it took me to get through the novel, I feel that I have to read the next installment to see what happens and if Power and Beauty ever reunite. This book was, in my opinion, not worth the $10.99 that I spent on it!

Don't get me wrong I commend T.I for trying his hand at writing a book.. However the book lost me from the very start. It had promise, however it felt forced and was trying to jam too much too soon and then it totally had my head hurting trying to understand the dynamic of it all. And from reading the whole book it looks like their will be a part 2. Which I hope they try to put the pieces together and make the reader who purchase the book not feel sorry about giving part 2 a second chance.

I thought the book was going to suck. I only bought it for amusement. No way in hell did I think T.I. would actually entertain me as an author. Many times, celebrities get gassed-up and start a new creative endeavor and fail miserably at it. This book was great. I read several chapters at a time; I wanted to keep reading more. The author does a great job with characterization and the plot thickens nicely, too. It's very easy to read, hard to put down. Some may argue that the English is confusing at times, but I think the narrator's dialect and the different characters' dialect strengthens the whole reading experience. Can't wait to read his next novel!

I am shocked at how good this book was! It was a complete page turner. Part 2 is what my book club is reading but I like to start at the beginning and I'm glad I did. I loved how each character had there own complete story. I'm really surprised....can't wait to start part 2 in 16 hours!I recommend this book to everyone and anyone who want to get lost in something different. Enjoy everyone.

Power and Beauty are interesting individuals TOGETHER, but apart not so much and they are apart throughout the book but are constantly thinking of the other, Power more so than Beauty. The story was interesting enough but way to outlandish and unrealistic. The chapters were drawn out and a lot of pointless blabbing. The book is written as a two part story so the first half is all about Power and his story then the last part is all about Beauty and her story ending with the two finally getting back together but only for a second. All in All the book could've been better but coming from TI" who's not a writer it was a good start but I'm only looking forward to the sequel (yes its to be continued is to find out what becomes Power.

I should have listen to the previous reviews. The book was ok at best. I found myself skipping through pages to get to the end. The writing at the beginning seemed choppy to me with the short sentences. However I will read the next book since I invested the time in this one I think I should see the end result and find out what happened to Power. I hate to start something and not finish it.

I have to say I kept falling asleep on this book which is the first clue that I was not interested. I FINALLY finished the book and it was like eating a meal that you tasted but was not satisfied! This book was Horrible. It piggy backed off of Midnight (Sistah Souljah's book) in some places and really had no direction or "meaning". I am left to wonder what parts were writtten by T.I. and which by David. I bet I could guess though. My recommendation would be for T.I. to stick to Rapping and staying cute and leave the writing to real Authors.P.S. The ending was super WHACK.Signed: Unsatisfied!

Decent read could be better

only managed 2 chapters, not sure what i expected but whatever it was i didnt find it,Keep rapping T.I your awesome at it!

Die Story ansich ist gut. Den Aufbau des Buchs finde ich auch gut. An manchen Stellen ist es jedoch sehr unrealistisch und na ja doch etwas weit hergeholt (vor allem, dass nach dem er zwei Todesfälle und den Verlust von Beauty erleiden muss auch noch seine japanische Freundin erschossen wird...nun ja!) Habe auch die Fortsetzung gelesen und kann mich da nur den Kritiken anschließen- wo ist das Ende? Ist das das Ende? Wo ist es geblieben?
