These are very good quality anchos.....fresh enough to be pliable and quite flavorful. Just right as the base for a batch of red chile sauce (ancho, guajillo, pequin, and New Mexico red).

I always have trouble finding these peppers, ordered from this site and was pleasantly surprised. Great value!!!

Just what I needed for my soups

Unfortunately, my bag was infested with moths and worms. I had to throw the whole bag away!

I bought these to make a red chili tamale sauce that I had made before. The peppers were dry but pliable. A couple had a little mildew/mold deep in their stems but it didn’t seem to change the taste or smell. The sauce was beautiful and deeply flavored but tremendously bitter. I had to add sugar, honey, lime juice and cider vinegar just to make it palatable enough to use a small amount. I threw most of it away. I don’t know why these peppers were so bitter.

These are usable, but arrived with a large rip in the cellophane bag, and they are drier than they should be. Cellophane is not a very good material for this; it's a poor vapor seal, tears easily and can't be reclosed.
