Good lockup and solid blade. Handle feels good in the hand. However, the "unlocking to open" move requires a very specific grip on the handle or you will fail to open it. In an emergency situation, this would not be my preferred carry blade due to the chance that it would not open in a timely way due to a missed grip/failure to open. Nice choice for a general purpose low-stress situations knife, but not an EDC in my book.

This knife is absolutely fantastic! I have never purchased a Buck brand knife before since previous models looked stodgy and somewhat old-fashioned. The Paradigm Shift however, strikes a great balance between good looks, form and function. The auto action is snappy after a bit of break in and shift style activation means it will never open in your pocket accidentally. Handle material is very grippy and blade came shaving sharp. This model is also less expensive than Buck's other auto offering the 110 auto elite. When you add in Buck's lifetime guarantee you can't beat it. Buy it now!

Previously bought an older generation of this knife years ago and have carried it every day since. When I saw this updated model I had to have it needless to say. Slight different design altogether than previous paradigm model, but still a great knife for all purposes, will continue to buy this model specifically for quality and uniqueness.

Been a long time Buck knife guy. This knife is the reason why! Solid, sturdy, quality and holds a very sharp edge for a long time. This is my every day carry and the opening mechanism is smooth, fast and punchy. If you don't lose your knives this is worth every penny!

Pretty cool knife. None of my friends know how to open it. Which can be a good thing. Feels good but kinda on the light side

What’s not to like. Own several buck knives and this is right there at the top of them. Love the action to activate the spring assist. Thank you Buck for another fine piece.
