A fabulous monitor
The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love this monitor. It feels well built and stylish with the 1000R curve. It looks a lot bigger than most 27 inch monitors but doesn't take up too much desk space, and it has some of the best monitor speakers I've heard which means no need for dedicated speakers. The VA panel looks beautiful and the viewing angles are excellent as shown side by side with my 17.3" IPS laptop.Unlike some unlucky reviewers, my one did come with the correct power cable! The box comes with a bunch of extras like a remote controller, hdmi, displayport etc. Assembly was fairly straightforward with the instructions manual.I hooked the monitor to my Legion 5 laptop which unfortunely does not have a displayport input on the back. This is important to know as an HDMI cable will not give you G-sync/Freesync and will max out @144hz. Needless to say I ordered a usb-c to displayport cable and it works flawlessly giving me the full 2k@165hz with G sync compatibility.Overall I would 100% recommend this monitor if you can snag it for under ÂŁ300 like I did. It is just so versatile!

I like it
I'm not that great with providing specifics on colour, brightness, whether it looks right etc for the monitor. So I can only provide feedback on user experience.I will say, this monitor is what has converted me to curved screens.I have an LG27GL650F as a second monitor, which the difference in comparison is night and day. This monitor is definitely way better.Monitor speakers are solid. Currently have it sound over display port which I originally didn't believe was a thing.I like the custom display options the monitor comes with. Controller for the settings and volume is a nice touch.165hz, if you come from anything below, you'll notice the smoothness instantly but quickly forget about it. The best things about a product are the things you don't notice and it just works.I play FFXIV at half the refresh rate, 1440p and it looks great on this monitor. Also play SF6 and other SF games. Its solid but something like fighting games is always an effort to get as smooth as possible. If you're playing FGs, in my opinion, its better to have a 1080p screen with a high refresh rate. But I'm a sucker for better visuals.

Amazing monitor at an amazing price, but came with wrong power cable
Like the previous few reviews, mine came with a “kettle lead” power cable, instead of a “cloverleaf” connector that the adapter needs. It was pretty disappointing to unbox the monitor and find I couldn’t even plug it in, but thankfully I had one of those cables lying around and could just change the fuse (5A to 10A). BenQ support replied to me within hours and sent the correct cable the next day, which I can’t fault - my only concern is the original (wrong) cable had a 10A fuse, and the new replacement one had a 5A fuse. I swapped the 5A for a 10A and it’s worth noting since previous reviewers had the same cable issue too.A previous reviewer also mentioned their box looked a bit beaten up, mine did too, but no biggie.I’m a student and a big gamer - I needed a monitor with the real estate and resolution to (quite literally) fit my work and be great for gaming. Upgrading from a 20 inch 1080p 5ms 60hz monitor to this was really quite something. 1000R is about as curved you’re going to get a panel, and it’s seen as the “ideal” curvature for the human field of view. This is my first curved monitor, and while it looked a little extreme at first, it only took around two days to get used to it and I don’t think I would get a future monitor this size (or larger) without it being curved. The 1ms response time, 165hz, and 2K resolution leave little to be desired. The remote control is surprisingly handy and the speakers sound amazing, easily better than your average desktop speakers and it was great to hear a monitor sound so good - saves me buying new speakers!HDR makes content look amazing and HDRi can make content look even better. Game HDRi is more hit or miss, with some looking amazing and others looking weird, but that’s nothing surprising. The lights on the back look decent in the dark, but can barely be seen in the light. Not a concern for me but a nice added feature.FreeSync works fine, there are picture and audio modes for all kinds of things like FPS, RPG and racing games, cinema, e-paper and tons of customisation, and the menu shows your current resolution and refresh rate which is handy.
