fantastic compared to most fans
Fan is nearly silent...fantastic compared to most fans...only complaint is that you can't adjust the location slightly on the output as it was inconvenient when doing a replacement not a new installation..

This is what a bathroom exhaust fan should be.
Pros: This fan moves a lot of air, does it quietly, and inexpensively. Broan builds a well designed long lasting appliance also so this fan shouldn't ever have to be replaced.Cons: 6 inch ducting may require you to change out your existing duct. Depending on how that is routed, it might become a problem if running it to the roof. I am having my roof done so can install the correct size vents, not something that most people can do.This is my second Broan ultra silent bath fan, my first being the same CFM but with a light and night light added. I replaced the 27 year old builder quality fan that sounded like a jet engine and didn't move much air with this model and am very happy. I installed it myself. Check your installation area if doing a retrofit because the box on this sucker is huge and may not fit between your rafters. I assumed I had 16 inches on center spacing but found I had barely 10 inches. I had to wedge a homemade spreader in between my rafters to spread them an extra quarter of an inch. Installation was fairly straight forward other than that. You will need a connector to lock the romex to the access plate and 6" duct and joints, as well as duct tape. I used a drywall knife to enlarge the existing fan hole and a few screws to mount the fan body. If the bathroom door is closed, the fan can't pull enough air under the door to clear the steam from a hot shower but with the door cracked, the steam is exhausted immediately. Taking another inch off the bottom of the door could solve this problem. I definitely recommend this fan in a bathroom application.

Really quiet, and very effective
Bathroom exhaust fans are not generally an exciting topic, but this one amazes me.Quiet: this is close to imperceptible. To give this five stars means that the next-best fan I have ever experienced would get no more than 2 stars, maybe 3.Effective: you can take a long hot shower, with the bathroom door and window closed, and when you finish and step out, there is no fog on the mirror. None. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. Possibly, but I’m not recalling any at the moment.Downside: this is essentially designed to be put in as new construction. In order to use it as a replacement, you need to be able to get to the unit from above (such as from an attic). We lucked out and had access from the attic. Because of this aspect, it wouldn’t be suitable for either of our two other bathrooms. So, know what space you can order it for, and you will be delighted. Also note that this uses 6” ducting, which is readily available, but is larger than normal. Our installation guy didn’t have that size in his truck, and went to the nearest big box store and got some.I will be looking for another model from this same company to use for our other bathrooms.

Good unit, made some modifications to make it work for me...
Well my first mod for the vent fan was to put an LED indicator light in the unit so I could tell when it was on! Well that didn't need to happen as it's not as quiet as I was believed it to be. So my fault as I ordered in the low consumption indicator before I actually had this fan in hand. No biggie, it still looks cool and my guests (it's in in our guest bath upstairs) ALL have given high compliments and basically think it's just normal and how it probably came out of the box, but.... then they know me too, lol.Next up was to paint/match the HVAC vent (pictured) and to not "stick" out so much on the high gloss wood vaulted ceiling. I used a Krylon poly/plastics primer all in one spray; that was textured in Bronze. I also had to make a mitered poly trim pieces that covered up the outside corners as I was filling a prior vent hole of 12" x 12". This fan unit covered everything except 1/4" on the very outside corner. This is due to the curving corners of the faceplate. No biggie, I've got the ingenuity I guess to deal these small tasks lol. Wifey loves it and that's the import part I guess ;)Hope this may help others with modifications in their blood. Overall the unit is great and to note; you don't hear the fan if the shower is on, when it's off the noise is low, just not as minimal as the Mfgr states.

Perfect fan!
This is exhaust fan is perfect! Very quiet, clears steam out of bathroom fast. For ease of install its wired into the same power as light and I dont mind that it comes on at the same time, with it being so quiet
