PM Interview Questions: Over 160 Problems and Solutions for Product Management Interview Questions Paperback – September 10, 2016

Lewis's other book, Decode and Conquer, is great and an invaluable resource when preparing for product management interviews. However, reading this book, I was shocked by the difference in the quality of answers here compared to those in Decode and Conquer. Many of the answers in this book seem out of line and even outdated, despite the recent publishing date. For instance, in the answer to "How would you improve Dropbox?", part of the answer details how Dropbox is unable to revert to previous versions of files, even though that's been a feature of Dropbox since the first demo video made at the inception of the company in 2007.Altogether, $40 is too steep a price to pay for the book. A handful of questions out of the 160 are helpful, but the book overall lends the impression that the writing process involved taking a quick glance at each problem, putting down whatever came to mind first, and moving on.Lewis Lin has an immense wealth of knowledge about the PM interview process and has overall been extremely helpful -- his other books and answers on Quora etc. are all very thoughtful and detailed. This book is disappointing and doesn't match up to the standard of his other works.

I haven't read the content of the book yet but just from the print quality of it, I'm surprised that paying $40 I get such a low quality print. It's like a self-print handout. And a lot of the pages I suspect they ran out of ink. It's really affecting the reading.. I may probably update my review for the content but the first impression of the book is really bad.

The quality of the answers in this book are extremely poor. I found that this books at times can actually be counterproductive in preparing for PM interviews, as many answers are extremely unstructured and given without rationale - the complete opposite of what should be done to succeed in product management interviews. While I have enjoyed reading Lewis Lin's other books, I will most definitely not be recommending this one to anybody and it is disappointing to see the significant drop in quality compared to some of his other works.

For the price, this book is quite mediocre. This is really surprising as Lewis Lin's other books like Decode and Conquer and Rising Above the Noise are extremely helpful. However, the responses provided in this example are like the stuff I would come up with on the spot during a PM interview without having prepped. Decent, but definitely not model answers to use to study for interviews with. Granted, there are a few pages with valuable insights. However, those like 5 pages aren't worth $40. Buy this author's other books, but skip this one.

Thinking about PM interviews at Google, Facebook, Uber and Amazon made me anxious.My estimation and product design skills were rusty, and I don't have an MBA from Stanford or Harvard.I checked out other books. Bonus resources to find practice partners including interview evaluation sheets.I'm impressed with the book, and I happy to say the concepts in this book landed me a PM job at A top Silicon Valley company.

Product management is one of the toughest gigs to do well. Interviewing for it can be even harder. The PM Interview Workbook helps ready you to meet that challenge in the best way possible by giving you a plethora of questions asked in real-life by the premier companies and hottest startups. This book shows the how dynamic product managers have to be and what are typical and atypical problems they must be capable of solving. If you are serious about a career in product management, this is a book that will guide you with practical examples and specific solutions. More importantly, it will teach you to structure your interview answering approach, provide the framework to organize your thinking, and help you answer with poise and confidence.To use this book most effectively, though you need to look at the question and not look at the answer. If using the print edition, simply have a piece of paper handy to cover the answer part. and then work the problem out first and then review the answer. It's easy to try and read the question and and answers straight through, but don't do it! Work the problems to make the most of this book.

I have purchased all of Lewis C. Lin's book and every single book was a mind-opening experience for me. As soon as I learned about this new publications I immediately placed an order on Amazon so i can read it as soon as possible :) I am in the middle of going through the book and I have found it really knowledgeable and resourceful. Regardless you are looking to have an interview or not, I think it is great to learn all of these techniques and ideas shared within the book.I personally would recommend Lewis Lin's book to anyone and invite them to read his Quora's answers, it will be really beneficial to you and your team in many many ways!!! :)(Note that the 2nd Edition just have a different book title and with few minor typo corrections, nothing differ content-wise ! :)
