Good, but no perfect
3 stars because it works, for me. 5, for me, would imply no bugs nearby. For those concerned with staining, I pre-tested it on an ordinary cotton T-Shirt without any staining. I didn't experience any stickiness either. I would recommend, as suggested on the bottle directions, test for staining on an out-of-location on the shirt/blouse. I'm sure many fabrics have different reactions to foreign substances. I've used it in the buggy part of south-central Texas. The product arrives in a 4 oz. bottle so for families a number of bottles will be needed, especially if swimming is a popular activity. The bottle I received, the pump didn't work. Thus the 3 Stars.

Good bug protection without the spray!
Live in Texas, mosquitos are always a problem. Have used these for several days now in the afternoon while exercising our dog. They are great! Significant decrease in bites! Love the reusable bag. Only criticism I have is the holes on the bracelets need to be better punched through, but other than that, so far so good

Works to repel ticks and help prevent being infected with Lyme Disease
A little over a year ago, I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Because I had gone so long without a diagnosis, I was left with permanent damage even after being treated for the better part of a year for my Lyme. It's something I wouldn't wish on anyone, and because of my experience, I'm extremely careful now about making sure my children use insect repellent. I live in the desert where we don't have to really worry about bug bites, but we own property in the mountains, and I am sure that's where I was infected with Lyme. It didn't even occur to spray myself down with bug spray because there are no mosquitoes there. Apparently though, there are ticks, and they carry the Lyme I was infected with. My husband is building a house on our mountain property, so he is there every day, and he brings either one or both of our kids with him most days. I ALWAYS make sure they are wearing an insect repellent now. I had bought some pretty heavy duty stuff to spray on their jean legs and shoes, and their tent for when they camp, but it's got harmful chemicals that can't be used on the skin. I wanted to find something that would be safe to use on their skin, but something that is actually effective for repelling ticks. This Outshield DEET free natural insect repellent was the perfect answer. When I bought it, I saw that it comes with a risk-free, 100% satisfaction guarantee, so I figured that a company who backs up their products like this really believes in what they are selling, and has confidence that the product works. That made me feel good about using it. The day after this came in the mail, my 11 year old son was wearing shorts up at our property and decided to go fishing in one of the ponds. I made sure he sprayed his legs down with this Outshield repellent. First of all, it doesn't have a bunch of harmful chemicals, so I don't have to worry about it affecting his health. Also, it smells good, not like most bug sprays. I don't love the way it sprays out in a mist and lands on the skin in little blobs that you have to rub in, but I suppose rubbing it in helps to coat the skin completely. It would be nicer if it either sprayed out in a fine mist that would cover the skin, or if it's going to have to be rubbed in anyway, a flip top would probably work just as well. Either way, the application isn't ideal. The most important thing though is that it works. I was very careful to check my son's legs over each day for the first several days since he started using this spray, and so far I have not seen any ticks at ALL, even though he spends all day walking through long grass and brush, hiking around or fishing in the ponds, and I know for sure that the area has ticks. This spray is safe and does work. I feel better knowing that I am doing everything I can to make sure my children don't have to go through what I have been going through after being infected with Lyme Disease. Lyme is BAD, and I now tell everyone I know to make sure to use a good quality insect repellent in areas where ticks might be. And if you hate the smell and feel of regular bug spray or you worry about the safety of the chemicals they use, you will definitely feel even better about using a product like Outshield's insect repellent. Don't take any chances with your health.

okay for a natural bug spray
This spray is okay for a natural spray if this is important for you. I feel like it works okay if you are not in a zone not very susceptible to mosquitos and gnats, however I live in north Florida and I still got bitten. Probably not as much as if iwasnt wearing any bugspray but its not comparable to other repellents that are probably more toxic. I also dont love the nozzle, it doesnt spray in a mist matter, more like a stream..
