Super knife for the money
This knife is very well made, and looks like a much more expensive knife (parts, blade, finish and markings are higher-end quality - and you must see to appreciate). The fully serrated blade will be a great all purpose user and would also do as a very imposing self-defender (if needed). And, it's extremely sharp (as mentioned in other reviews). I can add, that tried to cut some 65 lb braided fishing line, and broke the cardinal rule of using any knife, I cut the line pulling toward me. When I did, it certainly cut the line, and also went about 1/4 thru my opposite hand thumb (which I was splicing braided line to mono). And, this did so with light cutting pressure. *************This knife is a circular saw.. So, for use as a workman's knife, you should attach a small and secure lanyard utilizing the lanyard hole, to wrap around your pinky if you plan on doing lots of sawing, or stab puncturing boxes etc. If one were not careful with this knife, a sweaty hand could slip forward whilst sawing something, and... off goes a few of your fingers.. Or, if you punched into a box, or bag of fertilizer and hit something hard, one could picture your thrust hand slipping forward onto the blade of knife. This thing will easily go right through your hands/fingers like butter and I cannot imagine what wood-sawing force and a slip would do (OMG). Hence, the serrations on this knife are not really all that handle or choil protected from your fingers (if your hand were to slip forward). So, I would NOT use this knife as your average folding pocket knife, or kitchen knife. Hence, it will cut things that you normally wouldn't try and cut. Sypderco did a great job with the serrations here, but a fool will really hurt himself playing around with this knife. I have to wonder if this knife is really for show and to defend your life, moreso, than it is for someone who uses a knife a lot.. If they do, they should heed a special warning (tie a pinky lanyard with paracord, and/or wear some good chain-saw gloves for lots of use.So, again, this fully serrated Spyderco is super sharp, and sharper than I thought, and must be respected, and maybe moreso than other knives. I also bought a Gerber, Firestorm, which I do like a lot. It too is extremely sharp, and this Syperco knife was nearly 1/2 the price. Therefore, if you want an inexpensive, and high quality knife, look no further. An exceptional knife, and great looking too for the price. This is no Cubscout, or Boyscout knife.Enjoy - (with caution)

Pretty good
To start Made in China. Hard to open, no blade coating to prevent corrosion, not much to grip with on the handles, opens easily in pocket, I have bought 10 dollar knives at flea markets that were close in quality. The positive would be that it does have a big piece of steel for the blade but I expect it to rust easily. The locking mechanism seems to work very well. The handle materials and clip all seem to be of decent quality. I would have to rate it as very average for the price range. I have several Kershaw knives in this range and would not trade a single one of them for this knife. Step up 20 or 30 bucks and get a great knife by Kershaw which in my opinion is the best value in pocket knives period. I will keep this one as I can always use another serrated blade to use on the farm but truthfully get yourself a Kershaw Blur and feel the quality difference for just about 15 bucks extra. Disappointed after reading the reviews on this one as I was expecting much better quality.Sometimes I'm wrong on initial impressions and this is one of them. After getting used that that big hole used to open it I can now open it as quick as my assisted opening Kershaws. I have used this rascal in several different applications so far and Chinese steel or not this is one B** A** knife. Closest to a fixed blade as you will ever come across. Cuts anything you want to cut within reason and that is almost everything excluding wire or steel. Massive steel blade thats sharp as a razor. I guess China is the only way Spyderco can sell this for this price. I'm still partial to my American made Kershaw's but for the mere 30 bucks this one can be had for buy it. I can't imagine a better camping knive period. I think I"ll buy the straight blade now and I will have a great pair of skinning knives. The best thing about all of this is the price! When I kill it I'll just buy another, where can you buy a serious outdoor survival knife that fits in you pocket for this price. I can't quite make it an everyday carry due to weight but it will be in my pocket when theres work to be done. How could I have been so wrong!

BAD BOY SERRATED SPYDERCO
I have several spyderco knifes, and like them all, but I had a need at work from time to time for a Mid to Large size blade that is serrated and very sharp. Gymnastics cross-link foam with carpet glued to it is in every gymnastics school in America by the hundreds of square feet, and it is hard to cut with a standard blade even if its a quality blade that's sharp !! This $35 all serrated Tenacious slices through it like butter and is my new Go-To knife for this and other really tough to cut materials. I prefer NO serrations, or at most partial serrations on my every day knife blades, but I bought this knife for the specific job of "Major Heavy Cutting Tasks" so the fully serrated blade was my ONLY choice. PROS: Great size, super sharp, opens easily, BAD BOY serrations, and surprisingly solid and outstanding fit and finished for a knife in this price range. Cons: Yeah, its Made in China, but due to the quality construction for the price, I just could not justify knocking off a star. Quality knife for the $$. Oh yeah, the G-10 has a pleasantly comfortable grip. Perfect for my hard cutting needs! I would highly recommend the Tenacious for heavy cutting!

Made in CHINA
Having said that, the fit and finish on the knife is good. I really like Spiderco's fully serrated blade. I like this knife as an everyday carry knife, but I suspect the flat ground blade and the Chinese manufacturer is a sign of cost cutting. I would not have bought it had I known where it was made.Update: 1/2/14I've upgraded my review to 4 stars after using the knife for 7 months. I found that there's nearly no equal to the Tenacious` heavy fully serated blade for cutting rope, opening boxes and general knife chores. It looks as good as the day I bought it and has held it's edge very well. It's heavy though, and I find myself preferring my 3" Benchmade for a pocket knife. Still, the Tenacious is a good, useful knife, and the price is very attractive.
