I'm using this on my garage wall to help with arresting a DIY overhead canoe hoist. I use this as an aid when lowering and raising but tie off the line to a cleat when in the overhead position.I did replace the supplied screws with longer structural wood screws to hit a stud.

Works well. I mounted on front of kayak and considering it in back. only problem is I had knots in my line every 10’ and they won’t go through the fairlead.

I purchased this for my 12 ft fishing boat. I rigged the anchor to the bow and ran rope through 3/4 in. electric conduit to the rear seat.I installed the product at the point where I sit fishing and can control the anchor up and down and lock in place. Simple and easy.

While everyone could remark that the quality and strength of this cam cleat doesn't compete with Harken or other major manufacturers, I wanted it for use on a dingy and it is entirely serviceable for that purpose. Its cost was also about 20% of similar cleats from the major manufacturers.

Came in a timely fashion, and will work well for my sailboat.
