These filters came in sealed packages but they were not new filters. The first one I installed and didn't test and after a couple months I tested it and replaced it. Everything seemed OK so I installed the second one and used it for a few months and then tested it and put in the third filter. This one I tested and it read higher than the tap water before filtering. Tester broken? Nope I bought a saline sample and calibrated the tester, it was off a little. I opened the last of the 4 and tested it and it was also higher 350 vs the 260 out of the tap. I recently bought a new zero water carafe that comes with a filter. Water from this filter comes out perfect 000.Conclusion: Somewhere in the chain, filters sent in for recycling are being repackaged and sold as new.Recommendation: Test your filters immediately and return if bad.

I have been using ZeroWater filters for several years now and have been pretty happy with them. This particular set, however, is of very poor quality.The first filter "run out" in less than a month, while previous filters lasted me several months (no change in use practices). The water gets a distinctly sour taste when the filter is used up so cannot mistake it; the taste is not present in my tap water.I installed the second filter from this box and decided to test it. On the first use, the ZeroWater meter showed 198 and 197 particles (in tap water: 390)! Instructions on the filter say to replace when the reading is more than 006.Right out of the box the filters are basically useless.Maybe it is only my box that is defective, but this is what I experienced
