Be careful taking it out of the box, because it is very sharp.I LOVE my new mandoline from KitchenTECK. I have used many mandolines over the years and this one is one of the best. The blade is very sharp and the stainless steel frame is sturdy and makes slicing smooth. It is very easy to use especially with the blade attachments built in. You won't lose attachments. Salad making as well as preparation for casseroles is a breeze. If you like to julienne vegetables for decoration or stir fry cooking this is the tool. Cleanup is very easy. I would recommend this to everyone who likes to cook. For me it makes cooking more fun.

I received the product and proceeded to open up the box so that I could inspect what I purchased for future slicing and dicing and salad tossing.I do like to toss my salad after I have worked it over.The box that it came in was the product box itself that you see in the image currently being advertised. It was not in a brown box that is customarily used when shipping an item small enough to merit the use of one.Box was opened and items came in clear plastic bags.I proceeded to tear open the Finger Slicer (Main Unit) and just like we have all experienced a slippage when opening stuff, my finger (I sense that somehow you guys knew this part was coming) caught the blade and sliced the tip of my finger almost clean off. Almost! the meat was still dangling like a piece of toilet paper from the back of Mr. Moe Lester's (Junior high teacher) pants coming out of the bathroom.I received 3 stitches and my fingerprint will be unrecognizable (could be a good thing in some certain situations) for the rest of my life not to mention an ugly scar.The product MUST have a protector of some kind. Not only for the unwrapping but for the everyday use and storage.The product does work but the only reason I gave it a one star is to get the attention of not only the manufacturer but also my fellow future dismembered slicers.

Works very well. Very sharp. Kind of dangerous. Sharp objects are, but it wasn't for me. When you have thicker cuts, like say the last few slices of a tomato, using the guard is awkward for me.

I bought this product to use for French fries and slicing veggies and it does not slice well at all. It is not sharp and the handle used to push the veggies through does not stay on the veggies so you are in danger of cutting yourself.

I purchased a high end mandoline slicer from a reputable retailer of kitchen products several years ago. It is a good product, but I seldom use it because it is not practical except for large jobs. It has multiple blades that require substitution for different slices. Clean up is also more labor intensive.I recently found this mandoline with a genius design. It has a rotating dial that allows you to select the blade type for the desired slice. No more changing blades. With a simple twist of the dial it allows a julienne slice for carrots,squash, potatoes, and more. The mandoline can also be adjusted easily for desired thickness. With another twist of the dial this mandoline is set to create horizontal slices thin enough to simplify shredding for lettuce and cabbage dishes. This mandoline is perfect for busy people who love to cook and eat fresh produce, but hate the prep time and the clean up! It is made of stainless steel, is sturdy, and has safety features that seem comparable to my more expensive mandoline.

I don't understand how people are leaving 5 star reviews on this flimsy product.Slicing thickness is not 0-9mm, it's three thickness, thick, mid thick, and very thick.

I had been searching for a mandoline for quite some time now and am glad I decided on this one! It has made meal prep much more efficient as I am able to quickly slice veggies for my kids, salads, or other dishes. I love the fact that I don't have to remove any of the blades when slicing various veggies. I decided to slice up some potatoes I had to make homemade french fries for a snack, and it was a breeze. I then simply turned the dial and sliced up some carrots to add to our salad we were having for dinner. Clean up was quick and simple. So easy! If you are looking for a mandoline, I highly recommend this one!! I love it!
