Came with roller installed backwards, good otherwise
This is the first grain mill I've ever purchased so I don't know the nuances, but it crushes grain well. My only issue is that the main roller (the one you crank or attach a drill to) came installed backwards for a drill. If you plan to hand crank, this isn't an issue. You may be thinking, "If it's backwards, why not put your drill in reverse?" I thought this as well, the problem is that when the mill hits a bit of resistance (which happens often) the chuck on the drill loosens and then the drill can't drive the mill anymore. It's not too difficult to pull apart and swap around (10-15 minutes of work), you will need a metric #3 hex wrench (not provided). However, all of the tools needed for normal assembly and adjustment are in the box.I made the decision to purchase this one, because it has the two bars you can attach at the bottom so you don't need to build a table/mount for this to sit on top of a bucket. It works, though I will say grain milling at home puts out more dust that I expected, so it may be beneficial to build out a surface that covers your bucket, just to hold the dust in. This didn't affect the rating, just a thought for potential buyers.Overall, I'd call this easy to assemble, with the most time being taken to pull the plastic film off of the hopper plates. Just make sure to that your drill will drive the roller the correct way before brew day, or you'll end up hand cranking.

So far so good
Went ahead and reviewed this after assembly, but before use since so many people complained about assembly and adjustment. If you have trouble assembling this, you have not likely ever assembled anything. It was dead simple. Adjusting the rollers gap was straightforward as well. I guess I will see it it maintains adjustment this weekend, but as of now not sure why it gets all the hate about assembly and adjustment.

Not worth it.
Another Amazon user purchased for me as a gift. I had a mountain of problems with it.You must assemble yourself. There are no instructions, so hope you're really good at engineering. Hard to be sure which way the 4 hopper flaps go until you just do it a few times. And the edges are very sharp, so you may bleed for it. I did. No security in the flap insertion style - hope they don't break on you. Then I went to use it on brew day and it just kicked grain up in my face instead of milling. Took a long time to diagnose but there were 3 problems. In short you must be sure both rollers roll very freely before use. The rectangular locking nut that holds the wing bolt down that locks the roller gap in place was installed sideways during manufacturing. This caused it to slip out and catch the roller, stopped spinning, kicked grain back.Secondly, the rollers are extremely touchy, but eventually I got them. That part was on me not realizing that both rollers must be able to roll very smoothly within the frame when you set the gap. Gravity wants to drop them into funny places. You must fight it.Finally, the bottom flaps of the hopper, by default, contacted the rollers after installing on the mill's frame. I had to bend them flatter so they wouldn't touch. After all of this, I decided to run some dried spent grain from a previous batch through to see if it would crush finer, and finally it did.Maybe you'll get lucky after all this but...---I used it a few times over the year I've had it. It was not worth the struggle, the screaming, the constant resetting of the gap, the frustration, and the absolute pondscum efficiency that I was getting from otherwise great grain. I broke down and bought a name brand from a major store, which took a third of the time to set up and works 10 times better. AVOID. Signed, a 10 year home brewer with pro brewer family.

Average Crusher At Best
If I start at the beginning, I found this a little tricky to get it all together. Once it was together it was also a little confusing to get the machine set up properly. When it seemed to be locked it really wasn't and the result was a wasted 5 gallon batch of beer. I also found out later that better models have 3 rollers, not just 2, so next time I will pay the extra and get a higher quality machine.
