Low res, bad color accuracy, wonky GPS, constant HISSSSSSS
I didn't like the radio. It's a big pain in the A to adjust. You have to have the whole unit out of the dash COMPLETELY to adjust the depth so you better check and adjust before connecting anything. Installing the screen is really difficult, the screen doesn't move out of the way enough to get a screwdriver aligned straight on the screws for the bracket. The colors are not good on the screen, Spotify is more of a dark forest green rather than the bright green it is on your phone. The resolution and/or pixel density is bad too. An example is the Spotify logo looks like it is from an Atari 2600 while using android auto. Watching MP4 videos while parked looked like crap. I went to work twice without being able to use the navigation as the unit thought I was in China until I updated the firmware. Even after the firmware update the GPS would think I was on a different street and constantly zoomed in and out and rotated while driving straight. It would randomly not connect or see my backup camera. I couldn't get my F150 steering wheel controls to ever work (they worked fine on CHEAP Android head units) And finally, it just didn't sound good to me. It costs too much money for the feature set and serviceability that it has. I do not recommend. $150 Android radios have better screens than this does.

I wouldn’t buy it again and can’t recommend
The sound seems fine, and the interface overall is good, but the stereo itself has a lot of shortcomings. It often restarts itself (for no reason) and is glitchy overall (for example, using Apple navigation with Apple CarPlay is out-of-this-world crazy and frustrating). A very frustrating user experience in general, not unlike when your phone or computer is acting up and you know it needs an update or a hard restart. The problem is that it is impossible to get the stereo to do a firmware update (trust me, I have followed all of the directions on how to do so on mine and gotten nowhere) and restarting it does nothing.I really wanted to like this stereo because I like the volume knob, the touchscreen, and the price. Sadly, I can’t recommend it and would not buy it again. If I could return it, I would in a heartbeat, even if I lost $100 in the deal.My strong advice is to look elsewhere.

Awesome
Was unsure at first but thought id give it a shot, Great stereo, great value, Very secure, great resolution. Jensen has since updated the system from other reviews that said it has bad resolution. Also does not shake at all, vey secured, I have mind in the closest mounting position, don't know if that makes a difference, but so far has been great.

Hmm
I had a problem with the 1st one. Got the 2nd one and it works as advertised. 1st one Bluetooth would not work. I am happy with it, and it works really well.

Screen is too bright at night, otherwise excellent
Update 2: Jensen released a new firmware update Version: CAR910X V1.3 Date: 20211109_1741 to add "enhanced brightness control." However it makes very little difference. It now allows the bright blue background image to be slightly dimmer, but only a teeny tiny bit dimmer. The blue brightness is still overpowering - way too bright at night even on setting 0. They should have added a setting to allow a black screen without the glowing blue background.Update: I contacted tech support and they said Jensen engineering dept. is working on a firmware update to address the night time screen brightness. That is good news!Original review:I love this Apple CarPlay receiver because it has a beautiful, simple, and responsive interface (no delay changing between menu items) and a high resolution screen (better resolution than the high end 10” Alpine units.)There is one problem, however, so I can’t give it 5 stars. The screen is way too bright at night even on the lowest setting of 0 out of 20. This is because the theme background is mostly solid blue, which emits a lot of blue light into the car interior. I noticed that lot of other people also complain about this on other review sites. Jensen could fix this by simply creating a black background instead of blue, which is what most other manufacturers do. I hope Jensen issues a firmware update to give an option to change the theme color to black because this could be a safety issue. There is another cheaper model CAR910X which is identical except it doesn’t have wireless Apple CarPlay. That model can use CarPlay when the iPhone is plugged in with a cable. Actually I want to use the cable most the time so that my iPhone can charge in the car. So the CAR910X is probably a much better deal that is just as practical. I wouldn’t miss the wireless CarPlay feature because of the charging reason. The sound from the built in amp is excellent, and the EQ and time delay adjustment feature makes it possible to dial in the perfect sound. I’m impressed by the clear and powerful sound without using an external amp. This does not have an HD Radio tuner, something I miss because HD Radio sounds so much better than FM radio. Although I’m using XM Radio most the time. Maybe the rise of XM is why more manufacturers have dropped the HD Radio feature. It is nice that this model is not Made in China. It is Designed in Japan and Made in Korea. Overall it appears to be a high quality unit that rivals the best high end units except with a simpler menu.Jensen, please fix the night time display too bright issue!
