Cute but gets rusty over time
I got this because it would be a stylish way to make a soap dispenser from a mason jar. It’s super easy to install and looked great initially. I’ve been using it in my bathroom for 2 1/2 years. Because the interior of the pump is not rust-proof, water that runs from your hand down the side of the pump gets into the space between the lid and the pump bar. Over time it has formed goopy rust that has started to push up and out of the space that the pump bar slides into (see photo). I wanted to keep using the soap dispenser so I wiped the rust off and keep using it, but over time it has continued to happen and it just looks disgusting and dirty if I don’t wipe it down at least 3x/week. Not worth the time and effort, so I switched to a different dispenser. Also, the plastic ring that screws the top and bottom pieces together becomes loose over time and needs to be tightened. For 2 1/2 years of use for the price, I can’t complain too much, but felt that others should be warned that this is not something you’ll buy and keep for a very long time.

Dispensing tube is short, only 4 inches, not "long" as in description, reaches only to bottome of 8 ounce canning jar
2 stars because item's description is misleading - says it has a "long pipe / tube" so it will work in "any design jar". 4 inches isn't long by any definition I know of. The tube is exactly 4.75 inches long, a half inch of which goes up into the holder, leaving just over 4 inches to extend down into the jar. Based on the "long pipe" description, I bought 2 of these. The tube is barely long enough to reach to the bottom of an 8 ounce canning jar, certainly not to the bottom of a 32 ounce / quart size jar as is stated in the question/answer area. Shortly after purchase, the seller sent an email asking for a good review and said if there was a problem, they'd fix it. I reported the short tube...no response whatsoever - have given several months for a response. Ultimately, I had to go to a hardware store, spend extra money to buy a small roll of vinyl tubing which, after gentle heating to resize tubing slightly, was able to push onto the lid. Not perfect but better than most options out there
I purchased this over a year ago (10/2016) and use it to dispense regular blue Dawn dish soap in the Kitchen. It’s held up really well and there is t a single rust spot on it. I’ve had the worst luck with soap dispensers rusting and spouts crumbling so I am really impressed with this one. The oil can pump design is also really cute. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because like many others have mentioned... it leaks. Soap seems to ooze out of the pump, the spout, and the seal where the pump connects to the lid. I have to rinse it off after every use so that it doesn’t harden into gummy residue. The spout also pops out from time to time and I have to push it back in. It also dispenses very little soap per pump, about a pea sized squirt, which I’m okay with since I don’t need much more than that anyway. Despite all that, I’d still purchase it again. The whole thing really is stainless steel and it’s durable. It still looks good and after going through many soap dispensers this is by far the best one yet.

I must say I still love this pump
After 6 months of use, I must say I still love this pump. It fits perfectly on a mason jar, the pump action is smooth and dispenses the perfect amount of soap. Other pump options don't compare to the style of this one. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is for 2 reasons. First, it's not entirely rust proof; there is light rusting on the underside and around the rim edge. Second, the part where the pump screws into lid is impossible to seal 100% so there is subtle leakage of soap and there is always a suds buildup on top; despite frequent cleaning, it has even created a dingy stain that now seems permanent. Besides those things, I love this pump and will continue to use it.

Product is not rust proof or completely stainless steel.
This product is the opposite of rust proof. The pump is made out of ferrous metal parts and not stainless steel. When you pump soap after not being used for several days, out will come rust. There are plenty of pumps on the market that actually use stainless steel parts in the pump so that they do not rust. This product was clearly stated at being 304 stainless steel and rust proof, when it absolutely is not. Even extremely inexpensive soap dispensers do not have pump parts that rust.

I like the looks and the pump works well
I bought mine in March 2017. I like the looks and the pump works well. I sometimes have to prime the pump with water when I refill the soap. I then just pump a little water, stew the lid on and pump a couple of times until the soap comes out. I have not had any exterior rust problems. The only issue I ever have is when I have not used it for a week the first 1/8" or "drop" that comes out is black vs clear like the soap. I thought at first it might be a rusting spring, but if it was the discolored volume would be much greater. I suspect it might be the tip. It's not even slightly magnetic, it may be a lower grade of Stainless. We use it by the kitchen sink for hand soap, and it gets a lot of use.

& it is a very nice looking piece
I bought this dispenser to match my décor & theme in my kitchen, & it is a very nice looking piece. However, in roughly 3 short months it is, in fact, showing rust in areas that water collects. This was the main purchasing point for me, because it replaced my old dispenser of similar style which rusted through. It also can be a bit of a pain when dispensing where I will get more air than soap, but that is manageable. The rust however, is a huge disappointment for me. Thanks KruVan but I will not buy another one of your "rust proof" items.

After a few months use has some minor rust spots ...
After a few months use has some minor rust spots appearing at the spout and for some reason this pump leaks soap around the rim of the container. I have to screw it down as tight as possible to keep soap leaks to a minimum.
