I will start this with the sad story, Mine broke! But I had it for about two years and was pretty rough on it. I liked it so much I ordered a few extra not only to replace my worn out one, but just in case they ever stop selling them I want to have a few replacement units. Some clips allow your very pricey phone to slip out! I have never had that problem with this holder. I mounted it from a nightstand shelf so that it holds my phone perfectly on my bedside. As I was moving it around frequently, I wanted an extra solid mount, so I screwed it into the shelf! I told you I was rough with it. It actually still works but I noticed I could remove the gooseneck from the screwed in mount clip so I thought I should get another one. Why do I like this one so much? Positioning! It can be set to the perfect angle and height and will pretty much stay there. The base mount clip is the weakest part thus the 4-stars for sturdiness. Without the screws that will move if you try adjusting it. If you don't secure that base clip you have to be cautious of readjusting it especially while your phone is in it! To mount I just pre-drilled small holes in the clip and sank small wood screws into the shelf. Very secure and the gooseneck can support larger phones.

The product is great in theory, but the flexible shaft is so long and the clip is so weak that if you try to hang the weight of a phone off the end, the spring cable becomes so springy it moves around and is hard to keep in place. Or the clip is too weak it wont support the weight of a phone. I have tried using it for a couple different purposes and have been disappointed almost always. It might work for you, but it will always be a balancing act trying to keep the weight, length, clamp pressure and POV in harmony with each other. It's not great....

Update 7/19The seller reached out to replace the item since the ring broke on the first one. I’m happy with the product and their serviceThis worked great for about 3 weeks. Then the ring that tightens onto the clip part that holds the phone just cracked, making the whole thing just useless. I’m going to see if I can find something to replace the ring at Lowe’s, otherwise this thing is trash. And don’t come at me about “well it’s summertime and the vehicle got too hot”. If you’re selling an item to use in a vehicle, it needs to be able to withstand high heat. But you get what you get for $7.99

I bought this to video hunting. It is really stiff, hard to twist it around to get into a position. It moves around a lot from weight of phone. It came with a circle twisted in the arm, I had to leave it because if I didn’t it would sway everywhere. I ended up hanging it from above to get it sturdy. Had I known I would not have bought this. It was cheap, I left it in my deer stand. I will update this once I actually video while hunting, hope the wind isn’t blowing, if it is I think it will be very unstable, even hanging upside down.

So this is the second one I've purchased. I really like this one because the mounting clip is easy on and off, simple to use and it's cheap. But because it's cheap the last one lasted me about a year and a half until the mounting clip cracked and finally broke to the point where it wouldn't clip it anymore. But it's also because I would bump into it now and then, probably would've lasted if I didn't hit it accidentally so much. So it doesn't take abuse too well.But considering they're only $11 and it works perfectly for what I use it for, I bought 2 of them this time. Everything else on it I like and works great. The phone clip on the the other end is also a spring clip and is a fast easy on and off for my phone. It fit's my iPhone 14 Max and the swivel locks in place firmly where I want it. You can also adjust the swivel as tight or as loose as you want.The bendable bar or rod part of this is extremely rigid and sturdy, almost hard to bend, but it's also what makes it stay where you want it to.It's just the mounting clip on this isn't as strong as it's engineered for. Especially if you clip it on a table top edge with the rod fully extended straight up. I've tried putting this on my desk standing up, and with my phone, it just gets too top heavy and it just topples over because the clip isn't strong enough to hold it up.OR if you just want to mount it permanently on something you can probably just drill some holes on the clip and screw it on, that'll make it stay. Only thing that would make this mounting clip better is if it were made of metal and had a powerful spring.I use it upside down so I have no problems of this being too top heavy. Meaning I clip it on an a shelf that hangs over my bed and the rod is fully extended pointing straight down, making my phone hang just about in front of me so I can watch my phone hands free while in bed(see photo).So for my purposes, it works and functions great for me. And if you will be using this the same way, with the clip mounted on top and the phone hanging, then this is a pretty good phone mount.

Despite the lackluster reviews, my original use case for this was to hold up some lightweight posterboard as a light blocker at my office. I ended up 3D-printing some parts for that, so when this arrived I tested it out for its intended purpose. The arm seems to be hardy enough to hold position, but the plastic clamp flexes and will NOT hold a Galaxy S24 Ultra, period.

Why do people rate this well? Have you never owned nice things? The adjustable arm is way too rigid/hard to bend. The clamp is weak. The cellphone clamp is weakER. Spend a little more and get one that's well made.

El producto no es estable, no soporta el peso de un celular convencional, la pinza principal es muy frágil y la pinza que agarra el celular llegó rota. Aunque no hubiera llegado rota seguro se rompería con el tiempo. Es una mala opción de compra.
