CV30L Series Brass Check Valve, Potable Water Service, 1" NPT Female

UPDATE 7-25-2020 The price of this item is rising faster than silver..glad I bought a spare back in 2018 (when they were giving them away) you might want to look into a Stainless Steel check valve...the cost factor is about the same....which is sad.Update 7-16-20 Wow Guess I better not mention "good deal" now this is "VERY" pricey...(unless they added a solid "gold" return spring) I ask myself... does the unit come with a free reach-around...?2" Brass Check Valve. Excellent solid brass stem.Oh yeah this check valve is 5" long. I have used the check valve's that had the nylon (plastic shaft).... it was junk.I used a "swing check valve" and my plumbing would shudder when my F&W 2 HP pump would shut off.With this bad boy (Spring Check), my system quietly shuts down when the desired pressure is reached.This item was 25% ($55 + tax) cheaper, than my local plumbing supplier.I paid $82 OTD from my local supplier, and only paid $60 for this one (back-up) from Amazon.

The old one failed after 10 years of use with clear well water (no iron or impurities). It was the same construction, but hopefully this one lasts longer.

I had the internals of 2 all-pvc check valves break off and get stuck in the impellers of 2 pumps which caused both pumps to burn out. I ordered this brass check valve because it's brass (not pvc) and because it's okay with potable water. The next day I checked the brass check valves at my local expensive irrigation supply and panicked when I saw pvc internals inside the brass housing. When this unit arrived I was greatly relieved to see that it has brass internals with no pvc parts to break. Very good quality.

I had a pumping situation that required check valves. Original installer put in swing checks, giving an earthquake water hammer every 10 minutes as the pump cycled. No more water hammer, buddy. The glorious spring check valve.

This is a much better check valve than the flapper valves that I have used in the past which would leak back after a couple of years of use. They are well made as well.

I am using this 1-1/4" Check valve on an irrigation system that draws water from a creek, with some 25 feet of head, and it is holding pressure very well.
