Doews what I needed it to, and nothing else
My guitar-knob-tweaking days are over, but I still wanted to throw down a little 'Cathedral' every now and then, and this pedal does the volume swells for that perfectly, after a little bit of experimentation finding the right settings. I have not really used it for anything else, but I may try it on a synth after an echo or delay or time-tweaking reverb, because it's a great effect.

This is a "swell" pedal.
This is a sweet pedal for the price. I use it with a bass guitar to get a bowed effect. You can also pair it with an octave pedal to get a synthy swell sound. While using this product with the bass, I found that setting the sensitivity at 12 o'clock yielded the best tracking. If you go past 12, some of the lower E string notes get a little farty. It requires a bit of modification to your playing style. For instance, with the right settings, the harder you hit the string the slower the attack of the note. Within minutes of plugging it in, I was getting the feel for it and producing sweet cello tones. Fortunately, there are only two parameters to choose from while dialing in your tone, not counting playing style. The only negatives I can point out are that it feels a bit cheap in that the metal casing is very light weight. The large attack knob moves pretty fast which feels somewhat cheap too. You will have to be careful about the sensitivity knob since it could very easily be bent or broken off if you are too aggressive with it. The last issue is that the pedal does produce a small amount of noise when in use. Being that this pedal is like a gate or compressor, some noise is expected. I haven't had a chance to hear it in a live situation yet, but I am sure that it would be minimal. For 80 to 100 dollars this pedal is a great value. I suppose if you are really into the "swell" thing, you could drop 4 to 500 for a Boss Slow Gear or get a nice volume pedal and start working out your calf muscles. For the handful of times I would use this pedal in a three to four hour gig, this will work just fine.

Good pedal
This is a very good sounding pedal, but it needs an extra knob for volume. Without a volume boost it can be difficult to hear the volume swell.

Great effect, mediocre pedal
I love the effect this product gives but right out of the box this thing has a horrible pop when itβs activated. Iβm getting ready to replace the click on it after only using it a couple months and I think thatβs an issue as a pedal owner. Overall Iβd say get it but expect to replace the activation button right away.

Violin style attack for guitar
This is one of the easiest to control "Slow Gear" style pedals - I've had an original '80's Boss Slow Gear, a Guyatone, auto-swell effects in multi-effect pedals... This is my hands down favorite so far! I'd like for it to offer a longer "bloom" time, but that's only so I can make the "fuzz" amp hide most of the time and bring in the octave fuzz with delay only when holding a long note... But this is a great value.Works exceptionally well with distortion.

affordable
The Boss Slow Gear is expensive and hard to find. This Mooer pedal is similar and much more affordable if not as dynamic sounding.

WARNING: Does NOT come with a power supply as indicated!
Happy with the pedal, but the product description says it comes with a "DC 9V Adapter power supply", which it does NOT. Very misleading.

Fantastic bit of kit.
This very small footprint pedal is an awesome addition to pedal board. Easy to use and provides a great range of swell effects with true bypass. Was looking for something to save overuse of guitar volume pots. This is fantastic.

Has some use!
Hmm.... So this is small, nice looking and sort of works. The Slow Engine works as long as you leave plenty of space between notes, if you don't the attack collides with the pick and you get a horrible mix of attack & swell. Volume pedal or volume knob works better, but if you don't have the room or knob (I've always struggled with Strats) this could be useful.

Exactly what I needed
Neat auto-swell. I'm using it on bass guitar in an effects loop. There's not a huge amount of range, and you need to be careful with technique (otherwise the swell carries over: make sure you end one note before starting the next), which is no bad thing.

Fantastic little pedal
Fantastic little pedal. Takes some getting used to when using it and positioning in a signal chain (I put it after modulation but before tremolo). But when you get used to it, its a great addition for anyone wanting atmospheric swells.

This is a great compact pedal that provides a cool sound when playing ...
This is a great compact pedal that provides a cool sound when playing solos. It can add a small effect with just a hint of increased volume or full out, it can generate violin like sounds. I use it on the introduction and the solo to Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, rather than using a volume pedal and the effect is good.
