King Baby

The art for the book is enchanting and the writing works on so many levels. I got it for my almost 4 YO grandson for Christmas - he's expecting a baby sister in February and thought this story could be one more way to help him prepare. He laughed at several of the scenes and loved the story. It's so cleverly written that the adults laughed as well. I highly recommend this charming book.

Favorite Book for our whole family and our new real life "King Baby" who rules our family with his little iron fist. The illustrations aren't my style but it has helped us all see the humor of our screaming tyrant. Good for families with new baby.

I have loved Kate Beaton and her comics for years, and this latest book of hers does not disappoint. It's a charming and funny little story for both adults and kids, and the drawings are engaging and capture the story so well. As a former nanny, I've read a lot of children's books, and it's always so refreshing to find one that you wouldn't mind reading over and over again!ETA: I got this for my niece, and she LOVES it. She's not even two, and gets thrilled when we quote the book. I even got her the onesie that says Queen Baby on it. Such a sweet book.

OMG this is so fun! Especially for older parents like us. There are so many little details in the art that are great as well...the parents in their college sweatshirts (hinting at their former life), the aunt shoving forward to see the baby in the crowd...this is great for us. My kid is still too little to really be into plot and all that, but it's a lovely one for adults.

Based on the raving reviews, I expected to love this book. But I didn’t like it at all. It’s about a bratty little baby who looks like an egg. I think it’s crass and not funny. Unfortunately it’s not my style and I will be returning.

It’s a cute idea and well illustrated. The book seems to be more for parents than kids, which is fine except I have my own grown up books to read (without pictures). I don’t think we will be reading this much to our little one. Also it’s kinda weird to exclude an entire gender in the making of a baby book.

This book is so funny and for anyone who has a baby boy I'm sure it will hit home. He is my little king! I laughed to hard reading this book. And my child loves it, even brings it to me to read. The only thing is at the end.. I wasn't expecting that... now my in laws think I'm pregnant again! Lol!!! but still a great book, I recomend highly if you are expecting another baby and want to find a cute way to tell your " big boy" ;)

We absolutely adore Kate Beaton's works and her children's books are so funny and uniquely illustrated. We've owned this book for a long time to support her work but recently bought it to celebrate our friends' news of a little sister joining their brother in their family... Very apt!

I bought this as a gift, but loved it myself! This is a children's book that adults will enjoy. The illustrations are quirky and funny (as you would expect from cartoonist Kate Beaton), and the story hilariously and charmingly captures what it's like to have a new baby in the house. All Hail King Baby!

My daughter's favourite book - she knows all the words now (she's 2). I LOVE Kate Beaton's web comic and was so pleased I could get kids books in the same style.
