Only complain i have is that it is quite long. Hence it becomes slow at times. But in her defense, she describes each character, each event in so much detail that you get invested in them. Hence the lengthy book! I really enjoyed the dark and raw style. Everything is so well researched. A good experience.

You get drawn in, you want a good ending for these people. But you know it won’t all be good. I had to get past the “mystery of Covid” because it isn’t a mystery. What writer will be brave enough to say Chinese scientists create this thing we call Covid with the help of our tax dollars. But while I ignored this lack of truth, I enjoyed each twist of the plot. Excellent. By the way, the afterward, they didn’t Nreak in to the Capitol, the Capitol police invited them in to the tap.

Yet another 5* read from Karen Slaughter - she really is my go to for outstanding crime thrillers!False Witness follows the story of two sisters who are keeping a huge secret which they think no one else knows about, but through what appears to be a coincidence to start with, they start to figure out that maybe someone does know. And maybe that person didn’t re enter their lives by accident - maybe it was purposeful and they want something to stop the secret from being revealed.The whole story is a non stop rollercoaster, with details and twists being revealed all the way through. The story revolves some hard hitting subjects that are difficult to read at times, and comes with a fair dose of emotion, tragedy and heartbreak. Definitely one to read!
