I bought one and that is how I know they are gimmicky. These are purpose-built to scratch your back and nothing else.

Love these for so many reasons. First off they are hard and lightweight with a little claw at the end of a long handle making them the very useful for scratching your back. Second you get a 10 pack so you can throw one in every room and they will be readily available for when an itch arrives. And finally, the price is great.

I did not get these for free or a discount from the seller. I wish I had. I would have bought more. These are very similar to the ones Pier One used to sell, maybe 20 years ago. These are a little thicker, though. I was down to my last Pier One scratcher and was getting frantic about replacements. I don't want plastic, I don't want sharp ones, I don't want silly looking ones shaped like a hand, and the length has to be just right. I have severe arthritis and can't reach my back, so I'm serious about my scratchers. There are a few that are a little too sharp, but one or two swipes with a nail file fixed them. A few had a greenish look to them, but I think it is from being cut close to the bark of the bamboo. Or maybe I'm wrong. They don't look painted, though. Best of all, there is no strange "Made in China" smell to them! I can't stand that smell! They were all straight, none were damaged, and they work well. I'm even thinking of buying more because 2 have already magically walked off with family members.

Cheap, rough, but worth it for the price. I taped the rough edges on some, may sand some of I find my same paper, but overall you get what you pay for and I wasn't expecting much. For less than a buck each, you can't really go wrong.

Wasn't aware I'd get a giant bag of these lol. Also I'm not sure if they are kids party favors or actual back scratchers after seeing the label reference to party time. They are smaller than any back scratcher I've purchased so I gave away lots of them but still have half the bag left. I'll donate the rest because they are more of a child's size. I'll keep one for my suitcase because traveling it will work for a backpack or suitcase bcuz of the size but other than that should not be sold as adult items.

These are not too long they would be better if they were about 2 inches longer maybe 4 inches longer but they do the job. They work as expected they're a bunch of them so you can put these around the house so that you can always find one. If I had to buy I would buy again but because there's so many I expect I will not need to buy for many many years.
