The Ultimate Guide to Black Bear Hunting

Excellent book! Only a couple weeks left in our WA bear season and now that I've begun reading this I feel prepared to head back into the mountains and try to call in a black bear! I contacted the author through social media and he was extremely helpful with some questions I had!! If you want to kill a black bear then buy this book!!

I hate reading but bought this as it was suggested to me for an upcoming bear hunt. I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed reading this. It's very informative, easy to read, interesting and full of pictures to help better explain things. It's a great book for a beginner hunter, as well as an experienced one. I definitely recommend this.

Very informative and engaging. Having hunted bear for a few years myself, I find that many of my own experiences run true to Mr Boze's information. I also gleaned quite a bit more insight and things to try. Highly recommended.

Glad to finally have found a book about hunting bears in the Pacific Northwest. This book touches on everything from preparation for the hunt to cooking and I definitely recommend it to anyone that has an interest in bears, whether it be hunting or otherwise.

Well written, with information that is not only entertaining but useful. Just enough detail to be exciting, without being boring. Tons of tips and open minded thinking to not bash others. A pleasure to read and at times very hard to put down.

Like Mr Boze, I am an avid hunter. But BlackBear are a new experience fo me. I read this book after my first hunt and I’m glad I did! Great information!

I think this is a very good introductory book. The author has provided multiple stories that are entertaining and informative. Some of the topics are a little disorganized but not bad enough to disrupt the meaning. The book provides a cursory overview of the common forms of bear hunting with an emphasis on predator calling. I recommend this book to anyone early in their bear hunting adventure.

I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but I was very disappointed in this book. First off, the how to information in just about every chapter of the book is so basic that you would never have to hunt bears to write it. Just walk in the woods and you could learn as much about bears as this will teach. However, I wasn't interested in learning, I have hunted bears most of my adult life. I just wanted some enjoyable reading. It failed there as well. The most frustrating issue though was when it came to the bow and handgun issues. It's obvious that the author has no experience with either, especially traditional gear. If you don't know about something, don't pretend you do and write about it. Either just don't include it or just say you don't know. Anyway I'm keeping the book, but it won't get read much.

I’ve never hunted black bears before but I’m looking to get into it so I needed a book with as much information as possible. This is that book. Lots of useful on and off the field information and a few helpful hunting stories in between.

Excellent book for anyone wanting to hunt bears. Very informative for the beginner to the experienced hunter. The book covers many topics such as behavior, baiting, field dressing, firearms, ammo, and more.

Get the book. It covers all styles of hunting and very good rédaction of bear behaviour in certain settings.Definitely worth it.
