The M5A1 Stuart VI is an American light tank from World War II. The British called it ‘Stuart’ in honor of American general Jeb Stuart. Its main armament was a M6 caliber 37mm. This tank had a supply of 116 bullets. There were over 23,000 of the tanks produced in different versions. Apart from the USA, the ‘Stuarts’ also served in the British, Chinese, Polish and many other armies. After the war, some of those tanks were given to Mexico, Brazil and even Dominican Republic and Haiti. This unique model has a rotating turret with barrel, operable trapdoor and bonnet. The set includes a figure of a tank driver with armament and tools such as a hammer, axe and crowbar.

Great design, not so great playability
I really wanted to love this tank. In real life it's one of my favorites. In World of Tanks, it's one of my favorites. But my son just can't play with it. The problem comes with the tracks. The back wheel has no teeth, and the tracks have no center ridges. The end result is that these tracks slide around laterally a lot and pop off constantly.Great as a display piece and fun to build. Not so great for driving over the couch and scouting; you'll throw a track and be left immobile.

... bought this just to see if it was any good. Was very impressed
I am a WWII history buff and bought this just to see if it was any good. Was very impressed, looks just like a real Stuart that is in a local museum. Think it is a little too advanced for children, especially if they have a short attention span.

The tracks are very poorly designed
I loved the ease of assembly. The details were reasonably accurate. However, my overall satisfaction was lowed by the poor tracks. Using all of the track links made the tracks overly sloppy and removing a link made the track overnight. Running the tank on the tracks caused the tracks to slide off the sprockets. I noticed the same problem with the Sherman and the Grant.

My son is crazy about these Cobi WWII kits! I think he may have just about all of them by now! Highly detailed for a Lego style block kit!
