Aiya - who are the good guys, who are the bad guys
I wanted to love this book, but alas, I really liked it a lot, would give it a 4.5 As Meddie's love life continues, so do the ripples of the events in the first novel. I won't spoil it for those who didn't read the first novel. It isn't necessary to read it, but it certainly helps to have the background and the details. Moving forward to Four Aunties and a Wedding, it's wedding bells for Meddie. She is very much in love, finally got the nerve to tell her mother about Nathan, the one that got away. It will be a destination wedding, which includes the Aunties. It becomes a whole lot of complicated and bizarre layers and comedy of errors and fear. Maybe too much comedy and oddities, in my humble opinion, but it makes for a story always in action and it's not your basic Asian family/they are going to embarrass me to death story. At the end of the day, the families come together - not in a Brady Bunch fashion - but in a way only Meddie, her Ma and Aunties and now Nathan can pull it off.

This book was just as hilarious and crazy entertaining as the first.
In this book Meddy and Nathan are getting married but what craziness will their day bring. Well Meddy overheard her wedding planner talking about taking someone out and finds out she and her family are Mafia….let all your funny imaginative dreams come true! It’s 100% unrealistic but sweet and absolutely one of a kind. I still think the first book was my fave. The relationship and conversations between Meddy and her Aunties is just hilarious but also emotional and dynamic. I loved again how accurate they talk as women who didn’t speak English as a first language and the Asian heritage mixed with British was soo funny. My only wish was that we got more of Nathan! Now go read and enjoy and hope that someone brings these hilarious unique books to the movies soon!

Sequel feels like it needed another draft.
It just feels like the author didn’t get enough time to really complete this the way the first book was. The main character is repetitive and whiny for most of the book and the first half doesn’t really go anywhere or set us up for the second half. This author needed more time and a better critique group.

Nice Vacation Read
Good for a beach read. Some characters are a bit flat, but fun and easy overall. Goes down well with a tropical drink.

Hilarious!
Four Aunties and a Wedding is everything I hoped it would be! It’s laugh out loud funny, has the best characters, and made me smile throughout! This is one of my favorite series in the entire world and I’m really hoping the author writes more books because I simply can’t get enough! If you need a pick me up, this is the series that will do it for you!If you’ve read Dial A for Aunties, then you’re probably familiar with the antics that these aunties and Meddy get into. Obviously, they take things way to far but because it’s fiction it slides. In this one, Meddy is finally getting married to the love of her life Nathan. But things do go according to plan when she and her aunties find out that their wedding planners are part of the mafia… You can only imagine what ensues from there…If you’re looking for the perfect mashup of romcom and mystery, then this is the book for you! I do recommend reading Dial A for Aunties first though as this one ties into that one.𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗙𝗔𝗡𝗦 𝗢𝗙:• Mysteries• Romantic Comedies• Books that make you laugh out loud𝗠𝗬 𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Solid Sequel
Absolutely delightful. You always wonder if totally bonkers comedy can sustain itself, and Jesse Q. Sutanto has done it.In Four Aunties and a Wedding, Meddy and her family head to Oxford for her wedding to Nathan. But if you're attending the wedding, you certainly can't coordinate it, too. Enter the Tanuwijaya family, with a photographer named Staphanie (not a typo) who Meddy instantly bonds with. But they aren't just a family, they're a capital F family, mafia style. Get ready for wedding day hijinks like you've never seen before.Four Aunties and a Wedding is a solid sequel...as hilariously off-the-wall and zany as Dial A for Aunties, while ultimately a love letter to family. I loved seeing more Indonesian language in this one and I just hope there's a book 3 in Jakarta.

Fun characters, but a repeat of book one
3.5 stars for Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q. SutantoFour Aunties and a Wedding is the sequel to Dial A For Aunties, but it seemed almost like I was reading the same book. Where book one had Meddy’s family going to extraordinary measures to cover up a murder at a wedding they were catering, book two had Meddy’s family going to extraordinary measures to prevent a murder from occurring at Meddy’s wedding. I would have preferred a sequel about Meddy’s funny, caring Ma and aunties living their normal lives instead of them reacting to yet another set of crazy, unusual circumstances. The characters are interesting enough to support a story without extreme situations. My enjoyment of the sequel was also tempered by how the events of the story affected Meddy and Nathan’s wedding day. I felt anxious and sad while reading the sequel, unable to enjoy the humor woven into the story. Nathan’s mild response to the ongoing shenanigans of Meddy’s family seemed unrealistic as well.I believe Ms. Sutanto is a talented author, but if you read Dial A For Aunties, you really don’t need to read the sequel.

Wild ride!
What an adventure! I knew there would be a lot from the aunties after meeting them in the first book. It was great to meet Nathan's family, though I'm not sure they will ever be the same. I enjoyed picturing all the things that went into the wedding, imagining being a guest at times, but then imagining seeing it all as a butterfly following them around! This would be a great movie!

I do book #2
Four aunties and a wedding is the sequel to Dial A for Aunties. This book did not disappoint. Although, the first one was a little better we follow the same humour, family closeness, and enjoyable read as the first.

Just Okay..
The first book in this series was hilarious and well written, this one.. less so. It’s still funny, but feels forced. It would have been better if this wasn’t a series as the first one was so good, it was hard to live up to!

Loved Dial A For Aunties - somehow loved the sequel even more!!
Super funny and gripping story. Really hope to see a third part (and more!) to this series. Absolutely love Jesse's writing and ability to tackle important issues in a comedic way.
