Poor battery life (door push)
Edit : Dropped to 2 star after finding out that I missed so many deliveries due to this bell push not activating unless pushed twice. It transpires after (see below) I replaced the battery with a good quality Duracell, it is now acting up. After a certain period of time it will fail to work on a first push. If it's pressed again the light glows and the bell works. After being left for some time it goes back to needing 2 pushes.REALLY annoying and I've only had this thing for 2 months. I'm guessing it's caused by the water ingress.I looked for a replacement for my old wireless doorbell for some time.I eventually opted for this series 3 (DC313N) bell on cost vs features.EDIT 2:Now Honeywell tell me there is a 2 year warranty which is to be handled by the supplier. Yeah really? Amazon handle 2 year warranty - I doubt it - 30 day return window only and then "contact the manufacturer".Firstly the chime unit is quite loud but only depending on the sound you choose. eg. Marimba and some others are not particularly loud when at full volume and the choice of tunes are pretty poor: Hello , Ding-Dong, Telephone, Soft Alert, Westminster, MarimbaMost of these are very short and low volumeThis really leaves Westminster as the only one that will ring loud enough through the house for 2 reasons. 1) it really is loud and 2) it lasts a fair time.I bought the unit on 21st Apr 21 - installed and reasonably happy with it. Recently I thought I hadn't heard the bell for a while and my neighbours downstairs were opening the door. I went to check the door push (we had a lot of rain this June) and sure enough it was dead.I took the battery out and it was completely dead and so replaced it with a new Duracell 2032 which initially didn't do anything.I had read some reviews of this unit being OK for a while and then dying and was getting ready to claim on the warranty. However, after a few more tries reseating the battery and then going through the pairing routine it worked. So right now this is pretty poor if 21st April to around 15th June the CR2032 died, it's going to eat its way through batteries at this rate.I have 2 unknowns here which may need consideration.1) Maybe the supplied battery was depleted when it arrived.2) The recent torrents of rain we've had this month may have (as others have suggested) actually penetrated the casing and shorted out the battery. If it's 2) then this is a design fault and not good news. All I can do is now wait to see how long a known good CR2032 will last.I will adjust my review after I find this out.

Bought this as looked great for the money and trust the Honeywell brand
Not overly impressed to be honest. Bought this as looked great for the money and trust the Honeywell brand.Only had the doorbell a few months and recently wondered why people had taken to knocking on our front door rather than using the doorbell. Transpires that despite the bell-push being IP55 rated, it seems to suffer condensation ingress. It looks as though ours has shorted, causing the doorbell to repeatedly activate at some point (most likely during the day when we arent around and also flatten the battery.I took it indoors, left it to warm up a bit, changed the cell, put some rubber conditioner on the rubber seal (Gummi Pfledge as is so useful on cars) and also as a precaution gaffer taped the battery cover before putting it back on its mount.Overnight, its been cold but no rain and guess what its not working again.Cant really be doing with the hassle of a warranty claim for a several month old 35 quid doorbell system so have taken a chance and ordered another. Hoping this one will work properly...I'll also have two bell units one for downstairs, the other for upstairs so we'll have more chance of hearing it "if" it works :-)Disappointingly the bell push units are £20, more than half the cost of the DC313NBS doorbell pack (which includes a button).....12-15 I could stomach but £20...particularly given they are arguably more frail than they appear to be is too expensive.Otherwise when it is working its a good product.

Great replacement doorbell chime
The builders decided to take a few shortcuts when building this house, one of which was for the doorbell.I had a new alarm fitted to replace the cheap (and faulty) unit said builders had installed. Apart for many huge holes left in walls I thought everything was good. No, it appears they had wired the doorbell onto the constant 12v internal alarm supply - so the new alarm meant not doorbell.Wires traced and new transformer was installed but they had also wired the bell up incorrectly and yep this had damaged the chime unit. This little unit saved the day, I traced the power and the hardwired doorbell to old chime unit, removed it and mounted the backing plate in its place. The cables simply push into the relevant hole and clamp down automatically and the chime then clips into the backplate - took less than 5 minutes to install, pick a tone, adjust volume and test.Once again we have a bell! This also has a helpful feature where there is an LED light on top of the unit which flashes when the doorbell is used.

Backplate is awful, otherwise good
Replaced an old mechanical bell, and purchased this as going by reviews here it seemed to be the only unit with decent volume! Works fine with our old transformer, and volume is spot-on - audible, but not heart attack-inducing like the old one.The downsides: the quality of the 'manual' - a card full of pictures - made figuring out the settings on the unit difficult. (Hint: if you have two bell pushes, changing the chime tone changes the tone for the last-pressed bell push.) At least the wiring diagram was accurate and useful, the problems I had were due to the rat's nest like quality of our existing wiring, not this unit (as I remember I had to steal an always-on live from somewhere.)The biggest issue is the "tool-less" backplate. These things are always awful, and as others have described, one of the release catches broke. Fortunately the wire still makes a good connection. Standard brass screw-in terminals would be infinitely better. It also makes the main unit stand proud from the wall by 1-2mm, not a problem if it is at floor level, but in our case the old bell and wiring are above head height, and it looks odd.Basically, this is in many ways a good product, but it needs revising to correct a few issues. The manufacturer also really ought to offer free replacement backplates to those who need them.
