Buy these instead of aftermarket!
If you are thinking about replacing the HVAC backlights on your Honda, you need to pay a little extra and get these genuine OEM bulbs. If you decide to cheap out and get the cheap aftermarket ones, you will end up with ill-fitting bulbs that are hard to install and will not only burn out after a few months but will actually overheat and warp, making them almost impossible to remove. I was able to extract them piece by piece and was worried that the board had been damaged, but after inserting these new ones and feeling a solid “click,” I am now happy that my lights are good as new. No longer needing to feel around or turn on the map lights to find the right button. Totally worth it! These were for my 2008 Odyssey EX-L.

Perfect fit
I am glad I found these. The lights on my Odyssey console have been gone for years and I didn’t know they could be replaced. Real simple, found a video on YouTube. Price was high, but worth it for me.

BUY THIS SET! Save time and money over fake Honda parts
Easy to install you just need a flat head screwdriver and a pair of pointy tweezers to pluck the old ones out. This set is genuine Honda and it shows. The bulbs notch into place exactly the same as the old ones I pulled out. Before getting this set I purchased a less expensive set off eBay and they were blinking out in a month. I decided to go with this set and I couldn’t be happier. It took me two hours to remove the old cheap set since the plastic was soft and stripped some during install and the rest of the way when I went to remove them. I ended up disassembling the climate control console to access the front of the bulbs where I saw that the cheap plastic had melted and warped, they couldn’t back out of their locations for replacement. Lesson learned, save time and money by starting with genuine parts.

Fit perfect, and lit up the console liek new!
These are the OEM set - don't use the cheapos. These are spendier, but do fit and work. If you use a small screwdriver or the right size, you can unlock them and pull the old ones out with the screwdriver stuck in the slot. Otherwise, it is not easy to get the old ones out.

Worth getting these genuine parts!
These were not as inexpensive as off brands, but for something that should normally last 10-15 years and is difficult to install, it makes sense to spend a little more and get the genuine Honda parts so no concerns about longevity or color. Happy I installed these!

Fit Perfectly - replaced loose or burned-out bulbs
We went years with no illumination at night on our climate controls. After having spoken with two separate repair shops, each with a different answer and zero results (bulbs take a while to get, we'll have them for you next time, oops sorry we forgot / these are irreplaceable LEDs), I tried to take matters into my own hands. It helped that I was already pulling off the panel to replace a radio. At first I tried to replace the entire control unit with a used one that was "working great." When I put that in, unfortunately only half of the bulbs were working, so I sent it back. It may have been because the bulbs were loose, because when I purchased these new bulbs, they went into our original control box tightly. Be sure to have a flat-head screwdriver that matches the width and the thickness of the bulb slot or you may damage the plastic on the bulb trying to get it in. A set of fine tweezers will also help remove and replace unlocked bulbs before locking them in place again with the screwdriver. Honda designed these for very easy replacement; hats off to them! One note: I got my used control box for $40, and these 6 new bulbs were also $40. If your control box is otherwise working fine, go for just the bulbs. Notes on the images: You can access the bulbs by removing the dash panel (images 1 and 2). The bulbs go in the larger holes as seen in image 3, and are clearly marked as to the position to lock/unlock and the color (i.e. wattage) of the bulbs. My image mostly has the bulbs already removed except for one, of which you can just barely see the gray base. Loose or non-working bulbs are seen in image 4, and image 5 is the desired result (and my finished repair)!

Why Is OEM So Damned Expensive?
I previously bought non OEM bulbs that did not fit, so it was nice to get bulbs that slid into the panel, and worked the first time.My only problem with any of this is: Why is OEM so much more expensive? the guaranteed fit?I know from experience, that OEM, is not ALWAYS a superior product.
