I did not read the reviews before I purchased this item. If I did, I would never have purchased it. It came with no instructions on how to open it to empty it. Now HOW do you OPEN IT? I have arthritis in both hands and it was next to impossible except I was determined that it would open. I had to use a letter opener to pry it apart. I sent it back. I purchased a similar item at the Pomona Fair years ago and the bristles are in need of replacement. This was the best thing for picking up small spills or on small areas of the carpet. I rated the one star only for the possibility of using the lint brush side. Lesson learned: READ the reviews.

Nothing fancy but gets the job done. I had a hard time getting it open the first few days which was frustrating but once I figured it out it was easy. I use it to tidy up my chinchilla's cage and it grabs poop, food pellets, hay and wood shavings pretty well. The lint brush is a lifesaver. I didn't realize I would use it so much until I saw how much the chinchilla shed all over. My only complaint is that if it is not used on fabric (such as on a wood floor), it does not pick up everything and sometimes it shoots the stuff back out onto the floor that I have just cleaned up. But this thing is definitely useful to have.

Good: Works quickly to clean crumbs and other dry food particles off the table, Grabs in a swipe or two.The velvety side does brush off dog hairs from clothing.Bad: Can't open it, no instructions included. There are arrow on the case, both my husband and I tried to open it but it wouldn't budge. Tried squeezing and yanking, nada. Didn't want to break it as I do like it, so ended up shaking it into the garbage can. Most of the crumbs got out, but there are still a few inside that I can hear when I shake it.

I really didn't expect this to work as well as it does. I like to eat peanuts in my office, and shell crumbs invariably end up all over the carpet floor. A pass or two with this thing and they're all neatly collected and ready to deposit in the trash. It's so satisfying I end up getting totally OCD and cleaning my entire area. It's a guilty pleasure.The lint brush on the back side is pretty effective on pet hair, too.

Got this for my daughter to clean her sugar glider cage which is lined with fleece. It does work. She uses a vacuum for heavy cleaning and I always worry she’ll end up forgetting to remove her gliders from the cage and sucking one up with our vacuum. This thing is a good solution for small daily cage cleanings. I like it so much I’m buying another for spot cleaning the dog and cat hair off of our carpeted stairs. It works great for hair and stuff on carpet for spit cleanings. It is difficult to open for cleanings.

Quite disappointing so far ( really 2.5) as very difficult to separate the 2 pieces to dump what was scooped/swept up. In my case this would be kitty litter. Once turned over the litter spilled through the opening. I finally got the piece separated from pulling from the inside but not without spraying litter in my face and hair! Other sweepers would literally twist and turn and separation. It should not be so hard to separate and would think the litter be swept up easier

This little sweeper works very well on smooth surfaces. Our one tablecloth is some waffled but two or three passes bring up things in the depressions. The only problem is as others have said it’s darn near impossible to take apart to clean.

Hey! I have like 7 types of vacuum's yet I still need this small roll type for Kitty litter pickup & don't want to disturb catnapN Kitty's. Yes it works ? and so does static electricity on rolling on carpet which attracts dust!!!...So works & dusty...Humm...
