Small font. The way it is designed and written has not inspired me to try any of their suggestions.

For the suburbanite who is afraid of minorities
This is a pretty bland collection of things to do in LA. No Little Tokyo (where else are you going to see such a vibrant Japan town?), Koreatown, no San Gabriel Valley (LA Arboretum, Chinese/Asian food), no Central Los Angeles, etc. And no Orange County beaches? And what's with all the Italian food?! Do you also go to Kansas for the sushi? This book was written by someone who probably calls minorities "ethnics" and whose foray into foreign cuisine is the overpriced Mexican restaurant in the bougie part of town.

I wish some of it was more up to date... One runs the risk of turning up to a place, be it coffee-shop or museum, to be told it closed down a few years ago! However, it did lead me to some great spots. I used it in conjunction with the Monocle guide to LA (which has some of the surrounds too), and a Lonely Planet. We also used it road-tripping and it proved useful with some alternative sights.

Beware who you’re buying it from.
This review is more about the condition of the physical product. Looks used and many wear and tear on the edges of the book. Packaged in a flimsy envelope. Cover felt wet.Otherwise, the book is great. Good design, nice layout.
