Special Lite Products SHH-1006-MOC Horizon Horizontal Mailbox, Mocha

Despite this item being "Ships from and Sold by Amazon" it did not come in a usual Amazon box. Instead, it came in a plain box that was clearly previously-opened, and then taped back over with a second round of tape (as clearly seen by the side flaps having been taped, and cut, but nor re-taped as the center flap was). Upon opening, I found a second box inside, the product box. This box was also previously opened, except Amazon did not even both to tape this thing back shut, so a wide-open product box was flopping around inside. Upon pulling out the box, I discovered that the front, sides and bottom are one piece of metal, and the top and back are another. The two pieces are held together with three screws, one of which was missing - so the thing had no structural integrity. All in all, a big time Amazon FAIL. They sent me a previously-opened product that they did not bother to re-package (or even close up) and that had missing parts. Unfortunately I don't have time to deal with a return, I need this thing now, and I'll just spend the 20 minutes at my local hardware store picking up a third screw to match the first two.I'm generally happy with the look and finish. I do think the thing is somewhat flimsy, but for whatever reason you really cannot get anything sturdy without spending $200 these days, which seems ridiculous. It's thicker than the cheap black things off the shelf at a big box, but that's not exactly a high bar.It is what it is, I will reluctantly keep this thing because it's not all that bad, I'm just really pissed at Amazon for their unusually pathetic job.

Don't really understand all the positive reviews, the quality of this mailbox comes up short for the price. I was looking to replace a steel mailbox that let in rain. The fit and finish of this is suspect and the style, just meh.This is a thin gauge, two-piece metal box with gaps at the top and on the sides (doesn't look like I'd be getting away from soggy mail with this) and nothing lining the lid so it's loud when it closes. Disappointing, and it cost me $9 to ship it back to Amazon, to boot..

It's a perfect size and shape! I ordered the Brown mailbox first and then changed my mind and ordered the Bronze. The other color actually matches the front of my house better than the Brown -- which I will be returning. It's well made, stylish and easy to get into, unlike some of the other mailboxes I've tried. Good job Special Lite Products!!

We really like this mailbox- looks great on our house, is sturdy, and is a bit larger than the previous one we had.

I looked forever to find a simple, brown, horizontal mailbox. So hard to find. This one was exactly what I needed. The quality is not bad. Another review mentioned that the lid slams loudly, it does. A little strip of cushion tape on the inside of the lid fixes it. Otherwise I love it.

Strong and well made, this mailbox holds a lot of mail. We spray painted it orange. Now we have a cheerful bit of color on our front porch.

Looks perfect with my new dark bronze door. Easy to install. Good size and space to put 3" house numbers. Though I haven't found any stick on ones yet I like.

Very nice looking mailbox. I got in Mocha/Bronze and it looks terrific with my bungalow. I do agree with others that the paint job is imperfect, and that keyhole slots would make it easier to mount.
