It would have been better with more sample tests and sample questions
The book was helpful as a general overview of the sciences that need to be studied. It would have been better with more sample tests and sample questions. I took both tests and diligently compared my errors to the subject areas that I needed to work on. I studied mostly full time for about 2 weeks before taking the test. I read it on my Kindle while my computer had the text also available.I encountered questions that were similar to this book’s sample tests on the actual CLEP test and these were of about the same difficulty, although quite different in their content and structure. I got a 67 on the test, a passing score, and although I was quite familiar with several of the disciplines at one time, I had not studied most of these subjects for over 10 years. I think my score reflected more or less what I was scoring on the various exams I took. I have read Scientific American magazine diligently for many years and I think that may have also helped… Overall, I recommend the book as part of a larger study effort. I also used https : // modern states dot org to help me study. I heartily recommend this as does the CLEP write up on the w w w . college board. o r g site. Hope this helps…

Many errors in this book
I am studying for my CLEP Natural Sciences test using the REA CLEP Natural Sciences study guide. However, I have so far found a number of errors in the book! For example, on page 85, both of the Punnett squares have errors in them. In the top Punnett square, the bottom right quadrant should be Yy, but it is yy. In the bottom Punnett square, the genotype across the top should be Yy, but it's YY.The periodic table of the elements on page 110 is very out of date. It lists elements 113-118 as unknown and unnamed, however, all of them are now known and named. This book was published in 2022 and should have a 2022 periodic table, not one from 2010.In the second practice test, question #19 on page 214 asks "Which of the following is NOT an example of homologous structures?" The five structures pictured are (1) human arm, (2) cat's foreleg, (3) whale flipper, (4) bat's wing, and (5) bird's wing. This question confused me because all of the structures were homologous, in my estimation. The answer given in the book is that the bat's wing is not homologous because it's "similar but evolved from a different lineage for a similar purpose," This is FALSE! The human arm and the bat's wing are homologous, not analogous. An example of analogous structures might be a bat's wing and a butterfly's wing. They are both wings, but evolved separately for the same purpose.Given that I've found so many errors so far, I'm certain that there are other errors. Don't buy this book!

Not a new book.
I just took it out the package and was looking through the pages and it has a stain and a pencil mark. The test in the back is already started.

Inadequate physics and chemistry section
This is a vast topic to be summarized in a book and naturally the chemistry and physics section are way too short. I recommend listening to modern states online free videos, in addition to reading this material. Also the practice test questions are harder than the actual CLEP exam. You might want to solve questions available in the actual CLEP guide or in the modern states website to get a true measure of the level of difficulty. I have a lot of biology and science background and was able to pass the test with just 6 days prep of both the book and the videos. Got 63. The book isn't bad. But definitely not enough.

Natural Sciences is a very broad subject, so while ...
Natural Sciences is a very broad subject, so while this book had a lot of informative content, nothing in it was on the CLEP examination I took (so it didn't prove very useful). Even the online practice tests contained questions not covered in the book. How to perform physics equations was also not explained much at all.
