Crepe Spreader 2-Pack | 5 and 7 Inch Width | Spread Batter Effortlessly in Crepe Makers and Pans

I bought these after the flat type of crepe spreader that I had didn't work so well. I used to own a similar type to this before but much thinner dowels. I thought these would work well but instead just dragged the batter as it cooked. Even with soaking the them in water before each use it still made a mess. Same with using cooking oil on them. And yes, I tried to hold it as lightly as possible. I've been making crepes for years and this was the 2nd most difficult ones to use.

Very poor quality. Looks cheap, came in with the handles not connected to the spreader (probably very cheap glue). Not sure if it's listed on the description, but product is made in China.

Very good quality product. The wood is smooth, and the pieces are well made. If you really want professional, precise crepes, this product is for you. Otherwise, tilting the correct size pan around is probably sufficient. The 2 different sizes is very useful for different pans as well. I did receive a discount in exchange for an honest review. But, I truly would recommend this product.

I wasn’t sure if I needed this product or not as I learned to make crepes in Italy with no spreader and only a pan. We used quick movements to spread the batter around on the pan when first added and more movements to cook it evenly and to keep it from burning. But I like kitchen tools, too so I figured I’d try them out.The spreaders come in two sizes, which is nice. I can use the one that best fits the pan I happen to be using for the crepes. They spread the batter well and easily but I noticed that they quickly gunk up from crepe to crepe. They end up dragging the next crepe and making it not so ‘pretty’. I rinsed the spreader off between crepes and that helped solve the issue. I also tried spritzing it with olive oil before starting. That helped minimize the maintained gunk-age on the spreader but it didn’t work as well as just rinsing off between crepes. Minor inconvenience but it made for better crepes overall.These spreaders came with no directions, which I didn’t like. They are wood…so are they dishwasher safe or not??? This is 2016 – I don’t have time to mess with hand washing things. Every kitchen tool should be dishwasher safe…so if these aren’t, I’ll be less inclined to use them.Bottomline – while you CAN make a crepe with no spreader, if you need to use a tool, these work well. Ever since I started making crepes I always just rotated a pan in order to move the batter around, but now with these spreaders it goes so much faster and the crepes come out more even. This is a fun kitchen gadget ti have and works well. The wood it smooth and the spreader feels nice and sturdy.I received this product at a discount rate for my honest and unbiased review.
