Exotic pet for a 9 year old boy!
We are super excited to receive our hissing cockroach! We have received the castle, leash and lanyard and they seem to be well made. We do not view it as cruel to have a harness/leash; rather see it as a safety feature. This way, should he ever get loose, it will be obvious that he is a pet (not a fearful giant bug to be squished). Edited...he has arrived (after 6 days in the mail b/c of cold weather & holidays)-- he survived! Boy is absolutely thrilled with him! What a neat creature

Greatly made
The Castle was solid as a rock one of the leash hooks came off I managed to fix it by crimping one of the connectors a bit tighter now it is pretty solid. I think it might have been a bit of an accident that the lease was not strong.

Didn't include live roach but still fun
Great product. Very cute and arrived in time for Christmas. Came with castle, food, and detailed instructions. The only slightly disappointing thing is that the product did not include an actual roach and I had to pay 10$ shipping to order it separately on their website. Overall I'm pleased and would definitely order again.

Bad Idea
Have not purchased this but thought it to be disrespectful to the animal. While insects can be great first pets, gluing a metal loop to its body is just wrong.

Animal cruelty
Gluing a harness to the back of living creature is inhumane and blatant animal cruelty. This would be illegal if it were attached to a cat or a dog, why is ok to do a roach? Purchasing this product is supporting cruelty to animals. Please consider that before purchasing.

My grandson loves it.
My grandson loves it. He takes it everywhere with him and at night it climbs on and in the castle. I don't understand how people think this could be cruel. It's no different than a harness and a leash on a dog or cat. This is his first pet and it has taught him responsibility.
