A must for any X-Men fan.
I like seeing what I consider to be classical costumes on the X-Men. The issues here are good. I am looking forward to purchasing the rest of the Operation: Zero Tolerance storyline.

A classic X-Men story!
I love Scott Lobdell's writing and this is a classic story from my favorite era of comics! I highly recommend it.

Been waiting ages for this story to be collected!
Great story, even though 95% of the book is mainly a series of smaller arcs leading up to the actual Trial of Gambit, it's still a fun late-90's X-Men series of adventures featuring the artwork of one of my all-time favorite comic artists, Joe Madureira.Hard to believe this is actually the first time this story has been collected in trade. (Although parts of it were collected in the Joe Madureira Visionaries book some time back. X-Men Visionaries: Joe Madureira If you enjoyed the late-90s era of the X-Men, then you'll enjoy this book. Well worth it!

I would prefer if they collected the Zero Tolerance Uncanny and Adjectiveless issues together
Though I like the Shi'ar and Hong Kong storylines, and I always like Joe Madureira's anime-inspired art, this collection really suffers from other parts of the narrative playing out in other books. The Bastion/Zero Tolerance conflict wrapped up in Adjectiveless X-Men, and so to get the complete story you'll need to get that collection. Which, as someone trying to read through Uncanny, I don't really want to have to pick up a collection that doesn't even have any issues of Uncanny in it. Otherwise, as others have noted, it's a bit silly that this is marketed as a Gambit collection when it's only the last issue that features the "trial." However, I will say that the reveal as to what Gambit did in his past is pretty effective. But probably not worth it if you're looking to get this as a Gambit fan. Overall, kind of a weird collection that I wish Marvel had reconsidered.

Try and Avoid This Trial!
I'm sorry but I can't praise the good stuff without pointing out the bad stuff - and this is just bad. There's not much of a coherent story, there's a few stories tagged together featuring some of the best X-Men but in some of their worst tales and some of the worst X-Men ever! This is the era and this is the book that introduces/re-introduces such luminary fan-favourites as Maggot and Marrow (just awful really) reuses Eric the Red and features 'Joseph' who must surely be - but can't actually be - Magneto (do not try to work it out - it never does make sense!).Wolverine is side-lined but is so feral he's unrecognisable and Mr & Mrs Cyclops/Phoenix and Prof X show why they are so often (rightly) ignored.Central to the characters or the annoyance of these issues is the love-triangle between Gambit-Rogue-Joseph but it never convinces and the ridiculous accent of Gambit trips the reader out of the story every time he speaks. The mystery of the history of Gambit at the Marauder's triggering the 'Fall of the Mutants' I did not find any where near the shocking revelation it is played as and the X-Men's reactions are straining their personalities for a story - and that's after stretching the sub-plot to breaking point.Worst of all the low points, in my opinion, is the artwork. It is awful. It is childlike, stylised, confusing and ugly. I know there are fans and I can cope with most art styles but this bogs the entire book down in a blurry anatomically incorrect facially identical ...mess.Not a high point for the X-Men or the creative teams, if you're a fan of Gambit I guess you muct pick this up but otherwise I strongly suggest you avoid this and go for....almost any other X-Men collection.

Geile 90er
