Yes, the various Japanese-made koi foods are very high quality, but that quality also comes at a very high price. My 6000 gallon pond houses about three dozen koi averaging about 2.5 feet each and feeding that crew Japanese foods four times a day for six months out of the year would be a very expensive proposition indeed. I have used a mixture of four different Blackwater Creek koi foods for over ten years, a very cost-effective solution with excellent results. And the fish are not eating me out of house and home -- er, pond.

This is so much food. I only have 10 koi's, and I still have about 80% of this bag after 3 years. Unless you are a zoo or have a huge pond, this is likely WAY too much food.

Very dry and powdered
