I bought this to replace the 25 watt incandescent lamp in my bedroom reading lamp. At 280 lumens it is more than twice as bright as the 130 lumen incandescent bulb it replaced. If too much brightness is a concern this could be a problem. I’ve now just adjusted my headboard mounted reading lamp down and to one side and the increased brightness is not a problem for me.The big advantage to the new LED lamp is that the metal housing on the reading-lamp housing no longer gets too hot to touch! At just 4 watts instead of 25, the metal housing just gets slightly warm!I really like this lamp, but my wife has become hooked on the smaller battery powered book-mounted LED lamps.

Ordered two of these. Recessed can install. One lasted about 10 hours total, other one is still working. So here's the deal. Works out to about $4.50 a bulb the price I paid with Amazon free shipping. 3 year warranty. BUT {.....if the item does not last for the time period guaranteed (bulbs based on up to 3 hours average usage per day/7 days a week), the manufacturer (Sunlite) will send you a replacement product upon receipt of the returned product, register receipt, and proof of purchase. Please email us via the contact page on how to return the defective item.} Like, really? I will continue this review after I have found out WHAT they do to make good on their warranty. I mean, it worked. I don't have a closet to keep all the packing materials of every item I order, so it is gone. Continue review later.

Bought it for an LED replacement for my entertainment cabinet. Just too bright, and does NOT go off on the off setting with the other LED bulbs in the side cabinets. And although the length of the bulb is about the same as the old incandescent bulb I'm trying to replace, it still sticks out of the opening much more than the old bulb by about 1/2 inch. The old incandescent bulb fits much deeper into the receptacle opening and thus recessed as it should be. It's especially obvious since it is so bright a bub. It barely dims on the lowest dim setting to match with the dim setting on the other 2 side light bulbs. It's a great bulb, just not good for the purpose I bought it for, and especially that it does NOT go off with the off setting on the dimmer switch. I guess I'll have to try and use it elsewhere. I tried to return the product for a refund since it did not work for the purpose I bought it for. However, the seller was so amazingly gracious and immediately issued a refund without me having to return the item. This is why I will always shop on Amazon, even if the price may not always be the lowest on any particular item.

This 4W LED bulb is replacing a 25W incandescent type-R bulb. Works like a charm.I'm using it in a conical, metal, IKEA Kvart lamp and the fixture doesn't even get warm. The front of the bulb only gets slightly warm.

Excellent, warm light without the bulb itself getting hot! I bought this to replace a 25W bulb that made the lamp so hot that you could burn your hand touching it. Now I can leave my little desk light on for as long as I like and the bulb barely gets warm. Extremely satisfied with this bulb.

Wanted an energy efficient bulb that would fit my glitter lamp. Unlike the wax in the lava lamp, I can just flip my lamp like a snow globe to get it started, so the heat isn't a concern for functionality (although it does get hot enough for the glitter material to rise on its own, I'm just impatient). Would recommend to anyone in a similar situation.

Great replacement for my small clip on lights I use in my office. The old incandescent bulbs ran extremely hot, these LEDs are the same brightness and run a lot cooler, making the lights safer to use. Very happy with the purchase.

I purchased this bulb as a conversion from a 25 watt incadesent to a 4 watt LED for the 19 watt energy consumptionreduction.The light is brighter from the LED than the one it replaced.This bulb is in a small interior floodlight and has a mini candelabra socket. It is not a regular candelabra. This is important when considering the fixture.
